"In Christ"

Surely none of us can read the first chapter of Ephesians without seeing that the Holy Spirit constantly holds before us the glorious fact that the saints of God are eternally safe because we are  “in Christ.”   1.  We were blessed  “with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ,”  verse 3.  I take that word  “all”  to mean exactly what it says.  How ever many spiritual blessings there are, they were  “all”  bestowed upon us  “in Christ”  before the world began.   2.  We were chosen  “in Him”  to be  “holy and without blame”  before the heaven and earth was ever formed, verse 4.  The Father, in covenant grace, appointed us  “to obtain salvation”  in His Son (I Thessalonians 5:9) .  Christ is the Father’s elect Servant (Isaiah 42:1) and we were chosen  “in Him.”   3.  We were predestinated to be God’s children through or...

THE LORD'S DOING

“Strange that I, who had so long sat under the means of grace in England, should be brought nigh to God in an obscure part of Ireland, amidst a handful of God’s people met together in a barn, and under the ministry of one who could hardly spell his name.  Surely it was the Lord’s doing, and is marvellous! The excellency of such power must be of God, and cannot be of man: the regenerating Spirit breathes not only on whom, but likewise when, where, and as He listeth.” -Augustus Toplady, February 29, 1768 A.D.

Sound Doctrine ~ Imperative in these Last Days

"For the time will come that they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears..." -II Timothy 4:3 [KJV] There are but two schemes of religion in this world. One is true the other is false. One is saving the other is damning. These two schemes of religion are free grace and 'free will.' Free grace declares that salvation is the work of God alone (Jonah 2:9) .    'Free will' declares that salvation is, at least in part, the work of man. Free grace declares that salvation is conditioned upon the obedience of Christ alone as the sinner's Substitute (II Corinthians 5:21) . Free will declares that salvation is ultimately and finally conditioned upon the obedience of the sinner himself.    Any doctrine that makes salvation, eternal life, acceptance with God, and the reward of the heavenly inheritance to be dependent upon, or determined by you, at any point or in any measure, is...

Christ JESUS' Blood Alone! The LORD our Righteousness...

The vital thing to understand about the blood of Christ is this: IT IS ENOUGH! As it written, "It is finished" (Jesus shouted heartily from His cross: John 19:30, KJV.) Nothing else is needed to accomplish the salvation of all for whom His blood was shed.   Not His blood plus my works…   Not His blood plus my “decision”…   Not His blood plus the ordinances…   Not His blood plus church membership…   Not even His blood plus my faith…His blood purchased my faith.   HIS BLOOD ALONE paid the price required by His justice, and His blood alone can make a sinner clean.     “By His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having OBTAINED (not made possible) eternal redemption for us” (Hebrews 9:12).   -copied
