"My people hath been lost sheep." - JEREMIAH 50:6 [KJV] When God the Holy Ghost takes a soul in hand, just as the fingers of a man's hand wrote a sentence of condemnation upon the wall of the palace of the king of Babylon, so does the blessed Spirit write the word "lost" upon the conscience of every vessel of mercy; and when He has written this word with power on their consciences, they carry it about with them branded as it were in letters of fire, in such a manner that the impression is never to be erased, until it is blotted out by the atoning blood of the Mediator. And thus in the teachings of the Holy Ghost in the consciences of God's family, "lost, lost, lost" is written on their heart; "lost, lost, lost" is the cry of their lips; "lost, lost, lost" is the deep feeling of their soul. And none was ever found who had not the feeling lost, written more or less deeply upon his heart. None was ever g

Encouragement in CHRIST JESUS - Our Substitute!

The Man Who Took our Place by preacher D.G. Miles McKee “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God …” - I PETER 3:18 [KJV] We have just read a verse crammed with gospel dynamite. Have you ever wondered how a holy God can righteously bring sinners to Himself? This verse helps us unpack the answer. Suppose someone punches you in the face. Fortunately for your attacker, you are a magnanimous kind of a person, not much given to aggression and you say to your accoster “I forgive you.” But, to your astonishment, he says, “You don’t need to forgive me. I’ve already forgiven myself.” Wait a minute! The one who did the punching cannot extend forgiveness to himself. If there is to be proper forgiveness, it is you, the attacked one, who should do the forgiving, not the attacker. You are the wronged party! The aggressor is not the forgiver. Now here’s a thought! We are all sinners. We have, as it were, all

LOOKING UNTO JESUS!

"David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the L ORD his God ." -I S AMUEL 30:6 [KJV] David found himself in a very discouraging situation. Ziklag had been burned with fire, the families of David and his army had been taken captive, his men were ready to stone him to death. How could David find any encouragement in this situation? He took his eyes off the situation and fixed his heart and faith upon the Lord his God. Who is all our comfort in times of trial and heartache? The Lord our God! When we look within we find nothing but sin, doubt and discouragement. But when we are blessed with eyes of faith to behold Him, who is the Lord our God, sovereign, wise, and able to do above all we ask or think [EPHESIANS 3:20 ] then we have every reason to be encouraged in the Lord our God. Our Lord says, "Look unto
