Incoming GOOD NEWS Report! 29 July, 2022 A.D.

Weekend Gospel message to follow for All Hands (29-31JUL22 A.D.) Heads-Up --- Please find enclosed encouragement in SO GREAT SALVATION by the perfect and finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy and wretched sinners by His sovereign free grace - Almighty God's unmerited favor - from our sins and from Hell: “ Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”  -Hebrews 4:16 [KJV] We are coming, not to a throne of law, nor to a throne of strict justice, but to a THRONE OF GRACE. The words throne, majesty, power, and omnipotence all leave me awed and frightened; but the soft, gentle word GRACE stirs my spirit and heart to venture nigh in sincerity, humility, and hope! For, though there are a thousand defects in my prayers, it is a throne of GRACE. Though there are many defects in my knowledge, it is a throne of GRACE. Though there are so many weaknesses in my spirit, it is a throne of

THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

"Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come." - John 16:13 [KJV] There are two grand lessons to be learnt in the school of Christ, and all divine teaching is comprehended and summed up in them. One is, to learn, by the Spirit's teaching, what we are by nature; so as to see and feel the utter ruin and thorough wreck of self, and the complete beggary, weakness, and helplessness of the creature in the things of God. This is the first grand branch of divine teaching. And we have to learn this lesson day by day, "line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little." Through this branch of divine teaching we have almost daily to wade, and sometimes to sink into very painful depths under a sense of our depraved nature.   And the other grand branch of divine teaching is, "To know the only tr

What the Father Sees in the Man Christ Jesus.   By preacher D.G.Miles McKee Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man.  When we look at Him. we see the perfections of God, but when the Father looks at Jesus, He sees, among other things, the perfections of man.   It is no wonder then that Jesus is the only qualified mediator between God and man. (1 Timothy 2:5).   As you remember, when God created man, He created Him in His image, but through unbelieving disobedience, man fell from his position of intimacy with the Lord.  Adam failed … as has every man since then, save one.   From the time of Adam to Christ, untold multitudes of people have come and gone, but all of them have been flawed and imperfect. They could not love God with all of their hearts. They were marked with the sweat stain of sin.   But then, 2000 years ago a baby was born to a virgin, and in this child we witnessed the arrival of the last Adam, the second man (1 Corinthians 15:45, 47). He was and is the representativ

INFINITE, ETERNAL WORTH & EFFICACY OF JESUS' BLOOD & RIGHTEOUSNESS

"An altar of earth." -Exodus 20:24 [KJV]  Every thing, and every service, in the old testament dispensation, as well as in the gospel church, points to Christ. Behold, my soul, in the Lord's appointment of "an altar of earth," how jealous the Lord is of His honour. If the altar dedicated to the Lord's service, be of earth, or if it be of stone, there was not to be the least mixture. Nothing hewn, nothing polished by man's art, or man's device; "for if," saith Jehovah, "thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it." Behold, how fully Jesus was preached here! There can be nothing offered to the Lord for His acceptance, but what is the Lord's Jesus is the Father's gift to poor sinners; and when a poor sinner presents before the Father, the Lord Jesus as His whole altar, sacrifice, and offering, He presents to the Father what the Father first presented to Him. If the sinner were to join any thing of his own with t

Through the Fire

"And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name, and I will hear them; I will say, It is My people : and they shall say, The L ORD is my God ." - Zechariah 13:9 [KJV] It is a mercy to be in the furnace, and it is a mercy to be brought through it. The Lord's promise to the third part is, that He will bring them through the fire. They must therefore, according to His own word, be put into it, and yet not left in it. It is "through the fire" —right through it from beginning to end, whether it be a long and slow one or short and fierce one. The Lord knows exactly what we can bear, and it is not always the hottest fire which produces the most softening effects. Some metals indeed are so stubborn, and the dross is so deeply engrained into them, that they seem to require a hotter fire than others. But after the law has done its work, and the dross and tin have

JESUS Himself is All in All

"And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it." - Matthew 21:34  [KJV] The very lovely season of the year, and the fulness of fruits which appear on all the productions of God's providence around, open to the mind some of the most delightful meditations. My soul! sit down this evening, and give scope to the subject; and see, while contemplating thy Lord's bounties in nature, whether thy Lord Himself will not lead thee by the hand into the inner department of contemplating His yet greater bounties in grace. Methinks every thing seems to have a voice, and speaks of Jesus. By the fall, our poor ruined nature is entitled to nothing from the earth, but thorns and briers; therefore the numberless sweets of the divine mercy preach Jesus, and His cross. It is as if they all said, 'Are we lovely to the eye, pleasant to the taste, and healthful in the enjoyment; then are we so by Jesus's ap

GOD IS TRUE!

"He that hath received His testimony hath set to his seal that God is true." - John 3:33 [KJV] We can only set to our seal that God is true in any one point of doctrine, experience, or precept when we feel an inward witness that God indeed has declared it. Thus, upon every manifestation of God's goodness to the soul, every application of Christ's blood to the conscience, and every revelation of God's distinguishing grace, it is only as we receive Christ's testimony, experience the inward approbation of it, and feel its sweetness and blessedness that we can set to our seal that God is true. This, we may be well assured, is the only way to know the power and reality of true religion, to understand the Scriptures, and enjoy a convincing testimony that God is our God, Christ our Saviour, the Holy Ghost our Teacher, heaven our eternal home, and that our soul is saved in the Lord Jesus Christ with an everlasting salvation .   And with what divine certainty can such

Encouragement in Christ JESUS, "The LORD our righteousness!" 24JUL22 A.D.

"There they made Him a supper." -John 12:2 [KJV] We are very apt to suppose the blessedness of those hallowed seasons in which the Lord Jesus ate and drank familiarly with His disciples, as peculiarly given to the followers of our Lord in the days of His flesh. And, no doubt, there was a precious savour which Jesus manifested upon those occasions. He that laid aside His garments, and condescended to wash His disciples' feet, may well be supposed to have said and shewn a thousand gracious things in those seasons, which are not recorded. But, my soul, depend upon it, if we make Jesus a supper, or if Jesus invites us to His own, which is the same thing, there will be always a blessed savour of His person, work, and righteousness, when His person is the subject of discourse, and His work and righteousness the rich food of the soul.   Our ordinary meals would be truly sanctified, if the love, and grace, and favour of the bountiful giver of them, became the chief conversation

Almighty God's Lovingkindness & Faithfulness to His people

"Nevertheless My lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer My faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips." - Psalm 89:33-34 [KJV] We live in a changeable, ever-changing world. All without us is stamped with mutation, death, and decay; and as regards ourselves everything within us tells us how frail, weak, and mutable we are. Thus, as viewed by the eye of sense and reason, uncertainty and changeability are ever seen to be deeply stamped, not only on every event of time, but on all we are and have in body and soul; and this experience of what we feel in ourselves and see in all around us often wonderfully tries both our faith and hope, for we are apt to measure God by ourselves, and judge of our state before Him, not according to His word, but according to the varying thoughts and exercises of our mind.   But when we can look by faith through all these mists and fogs which, as resting on the lower gro

REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST

"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him." - Ephesians 1:17 [KJV] Revelation means literally an uncovering or unveiling of a concealed or covered-up object. It is used, therefore, sometimes in the sense of manifesting, making known, or bringing to light, what had before been hidden in darkness and obscurity. This revelation is, therefore, either outward in the word, or inward in the soul, and the two strictly correspond to and are counterparts of each other. Immediately that, by the power of divine grace, a poor Gentile sinner turns to the Lord, the Spirit of revelation removes the veil off the Scriptures, and off his heart. Have we not found it so? What a sealed book was the word of God once to us! How we read or heard it without one real ray of light to illuminate the dark page; and what a thick veil was there of ignorance, unbelief, prejudice, self-righteousness, and impenite

The cruel cross is the supreme demonstration of Divine love. Christian reader, whenever you are tempted to doubt the love of God for you, go back to Calvary! "But God commendeth H is love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!" -Romans 5:8 [KJV] - preacher Arthur Pink "Storm Warning: Prove All Things" is a fifteen-minute Gospel broadcast each Saturday via WWCR on World Band/Short-Wave radio at 9 . 350 MHz ( 9350

OUR KINSMAN-REDEEMER!

"I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though after my skin, worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another." -Job 19:25-27 [KJV] What sublimity is in these words! and what blessed glorious truths do they contain! Here is Job's creed. My soul, see if it be thine. Job did not say, that he had heard of a Redeemer, and that he hoped it was true, and he gave credit to it; but he saith, he knoweth it . And observe Who this Redeemer is. Job calls him his Goel, his Kinsman-Redeemer. For the right of redemption belonged to the nearest of kin, and he might redeem; Leviticus 25:25 . We have lost our inheritance, forfeited our possession, and are poor indeed, both in person and in substance.   Now as Christ, by virtue of His being our nearest of kin, is the one, the blessed one, the only one to whom the right of redemption belongs, and must red

Jesus, the Revelation of God

In the gospel, God has revealed Himself in Christ Jesus (Colossians 1:15) . He has done this so that there might be no mistake about who He is. There need be no speculation concerning what He is like.   God is not some vague spirit being out there Who chooses to conceal Himself. He is not a God Who refuses to or is unable to communicate with us.   One of the astonishing truths discovered in the gospel is that Christ Jesus is the revelation of God.  He is fully God and fully man.  He is in the Father, and the Father in Him (John 10:38) .  It is in Christ alone that we see the exegesis (  full declaration ) of God (John 1:18) . In Jesus Christ, we have the express image of the Father’s person (Hebrews 1:3) . Christ is the crossroads between heaven and earth. Don’t think for a moment that it was an angel or a created dignitary who went to the cross for sinners. A good man would not have had the strength to bear our sins. A created angel could never save depraved and fallen rebels … our si

The Smitten Shepherd

"Awake, O sword, against My shepherd, and against the man that is My fellow, saith the L ORD of hosts."   - Zechariah 13:7 [KJV]  Would we see, feel, and realise the exceeding sinfulness of sin, it is not by viewing the lightnings and hearing the thunders of Sinai's fiery top, but in seeing the agony and bloody sweat, and hearing the groans and cries of the suffering Son of God, as made sin for us, in the garden and upon the cross. To look upon Him whom we have pierced will fill heart and eyes with godly sorrow for sin, and a holy mourning for and over a martyred, injured Lord. To see, by the eye of faith, as revealed to the soul by the power of God, the darling Son of God bound, scourged, buffeted, spit upon, mocked, and then, as the climax of cruel scorn and infernal cruelty, crucified between two thieves,—this believing sight, this fellowship of the sufferings of Christ, will melt the hardest heart into contrition and compunction.   But when we see, by the eye of fait

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST CLEANSETH FROM ALL SIN

" Christ, our passover, is sacrificed for us." -I Corinthians 5:7 [KJV]  Thou art not wearied, my soul, I hope, with the subject of thy last evening's meditation; and if not, the subject itself of the passover is so abundantly interesting, that it furnisheth endless matter for the sweetest thought. Every thing in the Jewish passover was typical and figurative of Jesus; and therefore, that we might not err on so important a point, the Holy Ghost, by His servant the apostle, calls Him by this very name; "Christ, our passover," and adds, "was sacrificed for us." A lamb of the first year, without blemish and without spot, was set apart, in the Jewish church, for the observance of this service; and Christ, the Lamb of God, Who was "holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners," was set apart, in the christian church, for the redemption of His people, from all eternity. The lamb was slain, in the Jewish church, and roasted with fire; an

Saved by His Life!

"For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." - Romans 5:10 [KJV] What a fearful spot it is to be in—to feel and fear oneself an enemy to God! I think it is one of the most painful feelings that ever passed through my breast, to fear I was an enemy to God. For what must be the consequence, if a man live and die having God for his enemy? In that warfare he must perish. If God be his enemy, who can be his friend? Such sensations in the bosom are well-nigh akin to despair. Let a man fully feel that he is God's enemy, where can he hide his head? Hell itself seems to afford him no refuge. But he must be exercised with something of this before he can prize reconciliation. He must see himself to be an enemy of God by birth—that he was born in what our Reformers called "birth sin;" and that his carnal mind is enmity against God. O the painful sensations of the carnal mind b

The Sacrifice of the LORD's Passover

"And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the L ORD 's passover." -Exodus 12:26, 27 [KJV] My soul! thou hast lately been at the table of the Lord, to celebrate Christ as thy passover. If thy children ask of thee, as the Jewish children were here supposed to ask of their fathers, "What mean ye by the Lord's supper?" Wouldest thou not catch at the favoured opportunity to inform them? Yea, wouldest thou wait to be asked? Can there be a duty, or a pleasure upon earth, like that of a tender father instructing his household in the things, which accompany salvation? Can the imagination figure to itself any sight equally lovely to that of a parent, or a master of a family, encircled by his little ones, and answering to their interesting questions; yea, anticipating their inquiries, by speaking of Jesus, His person, His grace, His love, and all the wonders of His work, i
