BEHOLD YOUR GOD!

Get up on a high mountain, lift up your voice, be not afraid, and say to the people, "Behold your God" (Isaiah 40:9) ! That Divine person is come that was promised, prophesied, and expected - even EMMANUEL, God with us, God in our nature, God manifest in the flesh, God our Saviour, and who, being God, truly God, is able to save to the uttermost. Look to Him and be saved! Behold your God! Behold the Son of God! Behold the Lamb of God who has borne all our sins and taken them away. Behold Him now as your King and your Lord on the throne, crowned with glory and honor. Behold Him on the same throne with His heavenly Father, having all power in heaven and earth; and let your heart-faith exclaim, "My Lord and my God" ! -Gospel report by preacher John Gill (1697–1771 A.D.)

The Believer in Great Distress

"And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for His mercies a re great : and let me not fall into the hand of man." -II Samuel 24:14 [ KJ V] Whenever we as believers fall, like king David, into times of great distress and grief, we know our only hope is to "fall now into the hand of the LORD , " and "not fall into the hand of man." God may use men to help us, but we know our help and deliverance is ultimately all of His power and grace, not men. For the most part, man can and will only make the situation worse. But God's "mercies are great," and they never fail. We can see this especially in our eternal salvation. When it comes to being forgiven of our sins and justified before a holy God, we are definitely "in a great strait." In ourselves, we have nowhere to go and no way out of this great dilemma - How can a sinner be justified before God? If we fall into the hands

Natural Enmity

“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” -Rom ans 8:7 [KJV] There is a natural enmity in the heart of every person born into this world. We naturally hate God for who H e is. This enmity comes out in several ways. 1. Hatred of God’s people . Cain slew Abel because he hated him, he was jealous of God’s acceptance of his (Abel’s) sacrifice. 2. Hatred of the Truth . The truth is offensive to the natural man. He will receive anything but the truth; II T HESSALONIANS 2:10 . 3. Envy of God’s favor . G ENESIS 27:41 ; “And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him…” 4. Hatred of Jesus Christ . M ATTHEW 21:38 ; “But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, T his is the heir; come, let us kill H im, and let us seize on H is inheritance.” J OHN 15:18 ; “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated M e before it hated you.”

Our Redeemer Lives!

“ For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.” -Job 19:25-26 [KJV]   The Holy Spirit revealed through a man named Job that God’s saints, those who experience the natural process of physical death and decay, those who are buried in a natural body and raised in a spiritual body, those who are sown in weakness and raised in power, will be raised to actually see their glorious Redeemer…the One who has eternally stood for them as their Surety and Savior standing on the earth in the latter day. And according to that revelation, though we see through a glass darkly now…in that day we who know Him shall also see Him with perfect sight…never to be without that sight again! O the glorious and inexpressible consideration of that sight. - Gospel report by preacher Marvin Stalnaker Katy Baptist church of Fairmont, West Virginia USA https://www.ser
