"For I am poor and needy,  and my heart is wounded  within me." -PSALM 109:22 [KJV] The needy is a character who is not merely poor, empty, and naked before God, but who is feelingly in want of spiritual blessings applied to his soul. Some persons can rest on temptations, and take temptations as evidences. Others can build on doubts and fears, and rest on doubts and fears as evidences. Some can take powerful past convictions, or present convictions, and lean on them as evidences. Others can look to a profession of religion, and take that as an evidence. But a living soul must have heavenly blessings communicated immediately to his heart and conscience from the mouth of God. He must have deliverance manifested to his soul as a reality; he must have the blood of Jesus sprinkled on his conscience with divine power, to purge it from filth and dead works; he must have his eyes anointed with eye-salve to see Jesus; yea, his soul pants to be led up into sweet commun

WE DECLARE THE GOD OF LIGHT

"This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." - I JOHN 1:5 [KJV]   Light in His Creation – "God said, Let there be light: and there was light" [GENESIS 1:3 ] . How dreary time would pass had God not created light? How encouraging to know God takes pleasure in light! Light in His Intelligence – John declared the God of light "know eth all things" [I JOHN 3:20 ] . The psalmist said of God: "He tell eth the number of the stars…His understanding is infinite" [PSALM 147:4, 5 ] ; "He know eth the secrets of the heart" [PSALM 44:21 ] . Light in His Person – The psalmist extolled God: "Thou coverest Thyself with light as with a garment" [PSALM 104:2 ] . Daniel: "The light dwell eth with Him" [DANIEL 2:22 ] . James: "the Father of lights, with Whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turnin

And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." -P SALM 40:1-3 [KJV] When we consider this Psalm there are several things that are brought to mind: 1). What a privilege and blessing to be enabled to patiently wait on the Lord our God to bless us in His good and sovereign time [ P SALM 27:14 ] , His blessings are worth waiting for [ E PHESIANS 1:3; I CORINTHIANS 1:30 ] . David said in another Psalm, "my times are in Thy hand" [ P SALM 31:15 ] . 2). We see what some of these blessings are; "He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay" with His precious blood and power He redeemed us from the horrible pit of total ruin, sin, and death in
