God's Word Shall Endure

"All Thy commandments are faithful...help Thou me." -P SALM 119:86 [KJV] God’s Word is all true; the longer we test and try it, the more shall we find it to be worthy of our fullest confidence. Those who doubt its truth have never really proved its power. Those who mistrust it, in any degree, are as yet like inexperienced mariners who are constantly doubting and fearing what is going to happen; but those who have long done business on the great waters of the ocean of divine inspiration, and who have seen the wonders of the Lord there, will tell you that, though heaven and earth shall pass away, God’s Word shall endure forever. We have seen a thousand things in the course of our earthly pilgrimage, but there is one thing that we have never seen, and we never shall see , namely, God proving unfaithful to His promises and deserting His people in their time of need. - Gospel report by preacher Jim Byrd Thirteenth Street Baptist church of Ashland, Kentuc

Great Encouragement in Christ

“ As Christ’s righteousness is the only merit that can exalt us to the presence and kingdom of God; so that doctrine alone is to be considered as evangelical which depresses the righteousness of man and exalts the righteousness of Christ: leading us to trust, not on what we do, but singly on what He has done for us. The business of Grace is to lift us from the dust, settle us upon Christ the rock of ages, put a new song of free salvation into our mouths.” -preacher Augustus Toplady (1740–1778 A.D.)

CONTINUE IN THE FAITH

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on H im, If ye continue in M y word, then are ye M y disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free ." - J OHN 8:31, 32 [KJV] The truth is not known at first in all its sweetness, liberty, and power. We have "to continue in the word;" it maybe at times in very great darkness, distress, exercise, temptation, and trouble; and yet, such has been the power of the word upon the heart, it cannot, will not let us go. We see and feel the misery of departing from the truth, the wretchedness of getting back into the world, and being entangled in the spirit of it; and what must be the consequence if we leave those things we profess to know and believe, and embrace error or fall into the arms of sin! There is, therefore, a continuance in the word, it may be often, as I have said, in much darkness, much exercise, many trials, many temptations: but still we are brought to th
