When I say that God is sovereign, I am saying that He reigns over all .  There is nothing and no one over which He does not have complete control to do with according to the good pleasure of His will.  The Lord does as He pleases, when He pleases, with whom He pleases and in whatever manner He pleases.   He is directing all things to the end He purposed in eternity.  His sovereignty is His absolute, independent right to govern all of His creation, whether in providence or grace, according to the good pleasure of His will. -copied

Evidence Supporting the Principle of the Selflessness of Love God has arranged things in such a way that not to seek your own in the selfish sense, is the best way to seek your own in a better sense.  If you love God and serve others, you will in the long run promote your own highest interests.  You will find true pleasure here below and a crown of glory with pleasures forever at God’s right hand. All things will be yours, even God Himself (I Corinthians 3.21-22.)
