Gospel Encouragement ~ CHRIST IS ALL!

“ The Word of God declares that "every man at his best state is altogether vanity" [PSALM 39:5 ] . The Scriptures also teach that "Christ is all" [COLOSSIANS 3:11 ] . We may paraphrase what David and Paul stated in these passages by saying that man is nothing and Christ is everything. Those who would proclaim that man is more than nothing, who say (of themselves), "He is something," must therefore cease to say that Christ is everything. For to the degree you make man to be more than nothing, to that exact degree you make Christ to be less than everything. And man cannot be something if Christ is everything. But if Christ is everything, and He is, man must therefore be nothing, and he is.” - Gospel report by preacher Jim Byrd Thirteenth Street Baptist church of Ashland, Kentucky USA Please find enclosed link to audio Gospel sermons & Contact Info: https://www.sermonaudio.com/source_detail.asp?sourceid=13thstbaptist

The Wednesday Word

Never Man Spoke Like this Man by D.G. Miles McKee The Pharisees, fearing Christ’s rising popularity, had dispatched an arresting party to apprehend Him [JOHN 7:32 ] … but they came back empty handed.  ‘Why didn’t you arrest him?’ demanded the furious leaders.  The answer came back, “Never man sp a ke like this man” [JOHN 7:46 ] . Was it because Jesus spoke with great pathos? Yes, He did, but so did Jeremiah the weeping Prophet. Well maybe it was because H e spoke with great authority. That’s true. Every word Christ spoke was laced through and permeated with God’s authority. But Moses spoke with great authority too. Well, maybe it was because He spoke with great humanness. Absolutely true, H e spoke with great humanness but then so did David. So why did they say, never ma

Maranatha, Thou KING OF GLORY

"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from H im." -P SALM 62:5 [KJV] I believe that the Lord, before ever He communicates a real blessing to the souls of His poor and needy children, not merely convinces them by the Spirit of the depth of their poverty, of their truly ruined and lost state by nature, of the destitution of everything good in them; but He opens their eyes in a mysterious manner to see certain blessings which are stored up in Christ; for instance, righteousness to cover their nakedness, blood to atone for their transgressions, grace to superabound over all the aboundings of sin, faith to be the evidence of things not seen, hope to anchor within the veil, and love to be a foretaste of eternal bliss.   These and similar blessings the Lord presents before their eyes, and gives them a spiritual understanding that these mercies are stored up in Christ; and as He gives them this perception of what the blessing is, and shews them that the
