The Wednesday Word ~ 16 April, 2025 A.D.

Jesus  Our Redemption and Ransom by D. G Miles McKee We are not redeemed because we felt or experienced something.  No indeed! We are redeemed because the Lord Christ bought and paid for us with His own blood some 2,000 years ago.  We are His purchased possession.  He owns us.  We have been bought with the price of His blood (I Corinthians 6:20) .  Is it any wonder then that Fanny Crosby penned the lovely hymn,   “Redeemed how I love to proclaim it, Redeemed by the blood of the lamb: Redeemed by His infinite mercy, His child and forever I am. Redeemed, redeemed, Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed, redeemed, His child and forever I am.” Romans 3:24 states we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus . Notice this scripture informs us that our redemption is “in Christ Jesus.” In addition,   Mark 10:45 and I Timothy 2:6  tell us that Jesus is not only our redemption but also ou...

Deliver us, O LORD, from our iniquities...

" Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen: let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation." -Judges 10:14 [KJV] A severe sarcasm from the Lord to apostate sinners! It causes a hell upon earth to a renewed soul, to hear and feel just upbraidings from the Lord of heaven: this is one of His severest chastizings to His children. Here is an awful charge, and a severe reproof: the Lord keeps us clear of the one, that we fall not under the other.  Consider, (1st.) the charge: it is idolatry. They had gods of their own choosing. For the Lord’s sake, and for our soul’s sake, let us not think, we are in no danger of falling into this sin! It is committed by professors every day. Aged Paul wept over such. Though they professed Christ, yet they were enemies to His cross: their belly was their god: “Their hearts were set upon earthly things” (Philippians 3:19.) Such are not content with Christ as their own; to live in fellowship with Him: to walk in self-denied...

Take Comfort & Fear Not, beloved of Christ JESUS our KING

"There laid they Jesus." -John 19:42 [KJV] My soul, it is usual for the relations and friends of those that are deceased to attend the funeral. Art thou a friend, a relation, of Jesus? Oh yes; I trust thou art. He was, and is, the dearest of all friends, the nearest of all relations. He is at once all and every one—the Father, the Husband, the Brother. The invitation is therefore sent to thee, personally to thee . Every voice of affection calls thee to the tomb of Jesus, saying, "Come, see the place where the Lord lay." And if, like Mary Magdalene, from more abundant love, thou art asking, "Where have they laid Him?" —the answer immediately is returned, "Come and see." Yes, Thou dear Redeemer! By that faith Thou hast graciously given me, I will come and see. Let my faith take wing, and light down in Joseph of Arimethea's garden, and behold the place where the Lord lay. Was this the memorable spot? Did Jesus lay here? Did He here...
