“ Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” - ROMANS 3:24 [KJV] All who are justified, that is, declared by God to be forgiven and righteous in, through and by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus, are said to have been justified “ freely.” “Freely” is translated “ without a cause” in John 15:25, where our Lord said to His disciples, “ They hated Me without a cause.” The Lord Jesus was hated by His enemies though there was no reason in Him as to why He should be despised. Even so, those justified by God are declared righteous though there is no reason in them as to why He should justify them. This declaration of righteousness was therefore done without any consideration of anything done by them or anything in them. Only God can pour Himself out and baptise with the Holy Ghost! The Holy Spirit is God, not an influence of God. Isaiah 44:3 makes this clear. In that verse, Yahweh says, “ For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour M y spirit upon thy seed, and M y blessing upon thine offspring ”.
