Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 09 January, 2025 A.D.

" Godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." —I Timothy 4:8 [KJV] While under the law, we naturally think, for so much work, so much wages—God will be faithful to His word of promise, if we perform those terms and conditions He requires of us. Such are the notions of a legal spirit—they are the result of pride—they swell with a vain conceit of doing something to make God a debtor to our works; they are founded in ignorance, both of ourselves, and of the word of God's rich grace and free promises; not one of which is made, absolutely, in respect to us, or to any thing we either believe or do; but only as we are in Christ Jesus, members of Him, our blessed Head—For "ALL the promises of God are in Christ Jesus yea and amen, unto the glory of God." —II Corinthians 1:20 Every believer in Christ is a holy, godly soul; he is exhorted to be strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus. THE LORD HAS FOUND A RANSOM FOR HIS PEOPLE IN CHRIST JESUS

"...that will by no means clear the guilty , " -Exodus 34:7 [KJV] Pause, my soul, over these solemn words! Will not Jehovah clear the guilty? And art thou not guilty? How then wilt thou come before God, either now or hereafter? Hearken, my soul, to what thy God hath also said; "deliver him from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom." God hath not therefore cleared the guilty, without taking ample satisfaction on the person of the sinner's Surety.  Hence now the double claim of justice and grace demands the sinner's pardon. Here then, my soul, rest thy present and thine everlasting plea. Keep up a daily and hourly remembrance of it at the mercy seat. While Jesus lives, and lives there as thine Advocate, never doubt thy acceptance in the Beloved: guilty as thou art in thyself, yet spotless in Him. The sa...

The Holy Bible ~ A Revelation from Almighty GOD

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." -II Peter 1:20, 21 [KJV] The Bible is put into our hands as a revelation from God. As such we have received it from our fathers. As such, and as such only, does it claim our attention and our obedience. If it is not the word of God—we speak with reverence—it is an imposture. Now, if we can but firmly establish the necessity of a revelation from God, we have laid a strong foundation for a belief that the Bible is that revelation; for no other is worth a moment’s examination. This argument from necessity, then, is very strong, stronger, perhaps, than it at first appears, and as extensive in application as firm in strength. To feel the force of this argument, cast your eyes for a few moments over creation, and see what a provision has been made everywhere ...
