A NEW & LIVING WAY BY CHRIST JESUS' BLOOD

"And after the second veil, the tabernacle, which is called the holiest of all." -Hebrews 9:3 [KJV] The veil of separation between the two tabernacles, no doubt, typified Christ's body, which, in the moment of His death, by an invisible hand, was torn in twain from the top to the bottom, thereby intimating that now all separation was removed, and true believers were permitted to enter, by the blood of Jesus, into the presence of God, He having obtained eternal redemption for them. The second or inner sanctuary, had several very interesting particulars, by way of distinction, belonging to it. The veil of separation, under the Jewish dispensation, intimated, that it was impossible for any to draw nigh to God, but by a mediator.   When Jesus threw down the separation, and opened a new and living way by His blood, access was obtained to God in Christ; and Jesus, first for Himself, and then for His people, led the way into the holy of holies . The veil of separati...

Salvation Only Suits the Condemned

"Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that Thou bearest unto Thy people: O visit me with Thy salvation." -Psalm 106:4 [KJV]   How is a man brought and taught to want to be "visited with" God's salvation? He must know something first of condemnation. Salvation only suits the condemned. "The Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost ; " and therefore salvation only suits the lost. A man must be lost— utterly lost—before he can prize God's salvation. And how is he lost? By losing all his religion, losing all his righteousness, losing all his strength, losing all his confidence, losing all his hopes, losing all that is of the flesh; losing it by its being taken from him, and stripped away by the hand of God.    A man who is brought into this state of utter beggary and complete bankruptcy—to be nothing, to have nothing, to know nothing—he is the man, who in the midnight watches, in his lonely hours, by his fireside, and at t...

Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 27 May, 2026 A.D.

Praise the God of all creation,  Praise the Father’s boundless love;  Praise the Lamb, our expiation,  Priest and King enthroned above;  Praise the Fountain of salvation,  Him by whom our spirits live;  Undivided adoration  To the ONE JEHOVAH give!    For Thy free electing favor,  Thee, O Father, we adore!  Jesus, our redeeming Saviour,  Thee we worship evermore!  Praise the God of our salvation,  Hosts on high His love proclaim;  Heav’n and earth and all creation,  Laud and magnify His name. -old Gospel hymn, "Come Thou Fount"   -------0-------    Proverbs 8:33-35   The Lord Jesus Christ Himself and the Gospel truth of salvation by God’s grace in Him, the very righteousness of God, is the embodiment of God’s wisdom for all His true children. So, He tells us to “Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting ...

“I Change Not”

“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” -Malachi 3:6 [KJV]  These words are sweet comfort to the Lord’s people who live in this changing world. To keep us from getting too comfortable in ourselves and our situations, our wise God “stirs the nest.” “As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: so the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him” (Deuteronomy 32:11.12) .  Like the eagle, who stirs the nest of her young ones removing some of the soft feathered outer lining to expose the sharper sticks below, the Lord does changes things so that we remember that we can only trust HIM. He rearranges our comfortable little “nests.” All human comfort and confidence fails. He brings us into situations and circumstances in which we are made to know that He alone is our Strength and our Salvation. Like the eaglet out of the comfortable nest and ...

Audio Gospel Sermon ~ "Why Jesus’ Sacrifice Was Once For All"

Hebrews ch. 10 / Explained: Why Jesus’ Sacrifice Was Once For All -preacher Henry T. Mahan (39 minutes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V62pKFMqHg In this deep and eye-opening sermon, we explore: Why Old Testament sacrifices could never take away sin The difference between the ceremonial law and moral law How Jesus fulfilled what the law could never accomplish What it truly means to be sanctified, forgiven, and made righteous Why believers can now boldly enter into the presence of God This message breaks down the gospel in a clear and uncompromising way—revealing that salvation is not by works, rituals, or religion, but by the finished work of Christ alone. 📖 Key Scripture: Hebrews Chapter 10 If you’ve ever wondered: “Am I really forgiven?” “Do I still need to earn salvation?” “What did Jesus actually accomplish on the cross?” This sermon will give you clarity and confidence in your faith.

The Meaning of “Justification”

In the Scripture, the term justification means “to declare or pronounce one to be righteous or holy before God.” We see this in Acts 13:38.39, where the apostle Paul declared the Gospel to the Jews – “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man (Christ the Lord) is preached (declared) unto you the forgiveness of sins.” In other words, Paul told them that the only way of salvation was through the WORK OF CHRIST ALONE . Notice verse 39 – “And by Him (by His power) all that believe (literally, are persuaded) are (not will be, but are already) justified (declared legally righteous according to God’s Law and Justice) from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses .”   From the last part of this verse we see that justification cannot be obtained by our personal obedience to the law. Therefore, the hope or cause of justification (being declared legally righteous and holy before God) cannot be p...

The Wednesday Word ~ 27 May, 2026 A.D.

Only Two by DG Miles McKee     It is estimated that there are around 10,000 religions in the world, but the truth is there are only two. The first category of religion is comprised of those who demand performance (on the adherent’s part).  Salvation for them is a matter of doing one’s best or obeying a set of rules. For example … ‘Don’t eat this and don’t eat that.’ ‘Pray at this time.’ ’Take part in this ceremony or that sacrament’. ’Perform this or that good work’. This is the religion of ‘DO.’ It is by far the more popular of the two.  The other category of religion is really a non-religion. It is summarized by the word DONE.  Membership in this group comes about by receiving from God the gift of eternal life.  Since it is a gift, it is neither earned nor deserved.  According to Scripture, without Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). That’s true, but the flip side is equally true … with Christ, there’s nothing we need to do! Jesus has...

WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED?

"By thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."   - Matthew 12:37 [KJV]   Who then can be saved? Is not this legal doctrine? Does it not contradict that fundamental doctrine of the gospel, justification by faith in the righteousness of Christ only? No: no more than St. James, in maintaining justification by works, contradicts St. Paul, who insists upon justification by faith. They are easy to be reconciled: so are these words to justification by grace. Surely our Lord never meant to contradict His own words: “He who believeth hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life” (John 5:24.)    He cannot mean to overthrow our faith, distress our souls, and cause us to rest our final justification, at the last day, upon either our words or our works. If so, woe unto the most perfect! It had been better for that man, he had never been born: for eternal condemnation must be his doom...

JESUS CHRIST, The Light of His People

"For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shew-bread; which is called the sanctuary." -Hebrews 9:2 [KJV] It is blessed to see how Christ was set forth in every thing, and by every way in the ordinances of God, during the first ages of the church. Surely they had the gospel preached to them in type and shadow, as we have now in sum and substance. My soul, take thine evening meditation among the furniture of the outer sanctuary, and see what emblems they afford of Christ. The tabernacle, which Moses made in the wilderness, contained, in the first apartment, the things here spoken of. The candlestick, if without a light, strikingly set forth the darkness of that dispensation; and if with a light (which seems the most probable, for the lamps were to be always burning) it shewed that the Lord Himself, who walketh in the midst of the golden candlesticks, is the light of His people, and the glory of the temple. T...

We Must Win Christ JESUS

"If any man come to Me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple." -Luke 14:26, 27 [KJV]   There is no middle path to heaven—there is no intermediate state between hell and heaven; no purgatory for that numerous class who think themselves hardly good enough for heaven, yet hardly bad enough for hell. No; there is no intermediate road nor state. We must win Christ as our own most blessed Jesus, and with Him enjoy the happiness and glory of heaven, or sink down to hell with all our sins upon our head beneath His most terrible frown. The soul then that has been charmed with the beauty and blessedness of Jesus longs to win Him, and that not for a day, month, or year, but for eternity; for in obtaining Him, it obtains all that God can give the soul of man to enjoy as created immortal and ...

The Heart of the Gospel

“My times are in Thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.” -Psalm 31:15 [KJV]   In 1825 A.D., Wm. Freeman Lloyd wrote the following words based on this verse of scripture. My times are in Thy hands; my God, I wish them there; My life, my friends, my soul I leave entirely to Thy care. My times are in Thy hands, whatever they may be; Pleasing or painful, dark or bright, as best may seem to Thee. My times are in Thy hands; why should I doubt or fear? A Father’s hand will never cause His child a needless tear. My times are in Thy hands, Jesus the crucified; Those hands my sins had pierced are now my guardian and my guide.   My times are in Thy hands, grant faith to trust in Thee; For after death at Thy right hand, I shall forever be. -----------------   I read an article by a preacher where he took great pains to try to prove that Christ was not “made sin for His people” by imputation but by some other “mysterious way” that ...

ENDEAVORING TO KEEP THE UNITY

Let us not set ourselves up as critics and judges of the conduct and lives of other believers.  Let us not spend our time finding fault with one another, picking out weaknesses and exaggerating differences of opinion and practice.  Rather, let us spend our time endeavoring to help one another and to avoid doing and saying things that may cause others to stumble.           We can do this by making our fellowship to be in Christ ( not in form and traditions ), by loving one another in spite of differences, and by avoiding collisions on the points wherein we differ.  I am not suggesting for a moment that we compromise the Gospel or the fundamentals of our faith; but, as there are no two snowflakes exactly alike, there are no two people exactly alike; therefore, the foundation of our fellowship is our love for Christ and our love for one another, not perfect agreement on every point .      ...

REDEEMED! ~ How I Love to Proclaim It

Redemption is one of the great themes that runs like a scarlet thread through all of Scripture.  It begins in Eden, where God slew an animal and covered the nakedness of Adam and Eve.  Afterward, Abel offers a better sacrifice than Cain – Abel brings a blood offering, while Cain brings what grew from the cursed ground. When Israel was delivered from Egyptian bondage, a lamb had to be slain, and its blood applied to the doorposts and lintel.   One cannot read the Bible with open eyes and fail to see the unfolding story of redemption on every page.  When Christ, the Lamb of God, died on Calvary’s tree, He shed His blood as the price of our redemption – “The precious blood of Christ” (I Peter 1:18-19).   Paul declares, “Ye are bought with a price” (I Corinthians 6:20; 7:23).   Everyone whom God saves has been Redeemed by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Lamb .           ...

The Proof of Discipleship

Revive Thy work, O LORD Thy mighty arm make bare Speak with the voice that wakes the dead And make Thy people hear.   Revive Thy work, O LORD Create soul-thirst for Thee And hungering for the Bread of Life Oh may our spirits be.   Revive Thy work, O LORD Exalt Thy precious Name And by Thy Holy Ghost Divine Our love for Thee enflame.   Revive Thy work, O LORD And give refreshing showers The glory shall be Thine alone The blessings, Lord, be ours.     -Gospel hymn: “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”     *******0******     “By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples,  if ye have love one to another.”   -John 13:35 [KJV]     I am sure there are other marks of discipleship.  You will believe the Truth, and you will confess Christ before men.  You will hate that which is contrary to the Truth of the Gospel.  I am sure there are many other things that could be said to be marks of discipleship.  But th...

What Every Believer Sees by Faith

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”    -Hebrews 2:9 [KJV]   "But we see Jesus." How do we see Him? Not by dreams and visions or by the visualization of movies or pictures. We see Him as He is declared throughout the pages of Holy Scripture, "beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself" (Luke 24:27). True God-given faith believes the record of Holy Scripture (I Thessalonians 2:13). Someone said, "Faith is the eye of the spirit, which views and enjoys what the Word of God presents to its vision." As Job said, "I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth Thee" (Job 42:5). This verse gives to us some key points as to how we see the Lord Jesus Christ.   1). We see Him as God our Saviour, i...

Enjoying the Life of God in Our Soul

"JESUS said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you ."   - John 6:53 [KJV]   Ignorant persons, who sit under unenlightened teachers, are taught to apply these words to the sacrament. Hence they think, if they do but receive the sacrament, they surely eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ; their sins are pardoned; all is well; and they shall go to heaven at last. O, how horridly is that sacred ordinance prostituted! “The wicked, such as be void of lively faith, do carnally and visibly press with their teeth the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ; yet in no wise are they partakers of Christ: but rather, to their condemnation, do eat and drink the sign or sacrament of so great a thing,” says St. Austin. What doth our Lord here mean?    (1st.) That naturally we have no spiritual life in us. We are dead, under the sentence of the law: as dead to all knowledge of, lo...

Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 26 May, 2026 A.D.

"Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things." -Ephesians 4:9, 10 [KJV]   My soul! Thy morning portion led thee to the contemplation of a risen and ascended Saviour; and by faith and love, I hope thou didst find thyself ascending with Him, and art now still looking to Him on the throne of the Majesty on high. And while thy thoughts are thus occupied in the most blessed of all subjects, listen to this word of God's grace, as of a voice behind thee, to remind thee, that He who is thus gone up, first came down! He that is now in heaven, first came down from heaven; He is only returned, as a rightful Lord, to His own kingdom.    He hath, indeed, both by His Father's gift, and His own purchase, obtained a mediatorial crown, to add to His crown of the Godhead, which He had before in common with the Fa...

Oh! The Struggle & Conflict...

"I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him." -Ezekiel 21:27 [KJV] Are there not seasons in our experience when we can lay down our souls before God, and say, "Let Christ be precious to my soul, let Him come with power to my heart, let Him set up His throne as Lord and King, and let self be nothing before Him?"  Well, we utter these prayers in sincerity and simplicity, we desire their fulfilment; but oh, the struggle! the conflict! when God answers these petitions. When our plans are frustrated, what a rebellion works up in the carnal mind! When self is cast down, what a rising up of the fretful, peevish impatience of the creature! When the Lord does answer our prayers, and strips off all false confidence; when He does remove our rotten props, and dash to pieces our broken cisterns, what a storm—what a conflict takes place in the soul! Angry with the Lord for doing the very ...
