Do You Believe God?

How rich the depths of love Divine Of bliss a boundless store Dear Saviour let me call Thee mine I could not wish for more – I could not wish for more! On Thee alone my hope relies Beneath Thy cross I fall My Lord, my life, my sacrifice My Saviour and my All – My Saviour and my All! How great Thy wisdom, power and grace That in redemption shines The heavenly hosts with joy confess The work is all Divine – The work is all Divine! Before His face they cast their crowns Those crowns which Jesus gave And with ten thousand, thousand tongues Proclaim His power to save – Proclaim His power to save!     -Gospel Hymn, “Majestic Sweetness”     ----------0----------   I BELIEVE GOD, DO YOU?   “For I believe God, that it shall be  even as it was told me.” -Acts 27:25 [KJV]   Do you believe God?   I am not asking if you believe in God.   I am not asking if you believe there is a God.   My question is, “Do you believe God?”   Do you b...

Sin Is Difficult To Put Away

I love this scripture; Isaiah1:18-20 . Mr. Spurgeon preached from it and said, "God proposes a conference, not to determine IF we are sinners, nor the EXTENT of our sins, but what is to be done about our sins." We are all sinners, and our sins are deep and double dyed " as scarlet " and " red like crimson :" Sin is so difficult to put away that it is impossible for all but GOD! And even God cannot put away sin except through the precious blood and obedience of THE SON OF HIS LOVE! Hebrews 9:26 declares that " He put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself ." What saith the word? " Come now and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. IF YOU BE WILLING and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land ."   1. Are we willing to own and confess our sins?   2. Are we willing to repent of dead works and self-righteou...

Knowing The LORD JESUS Christ

Knowing the Lord Jesus Christ is more than simply knowing facts about Him, although we will know facts about Him. True Knowledge of Christ comes by revelation and through a real, personal relationship; “I am my beloved's, and His desire is toward me” ( Song of Solomon 7:10 ) .   This relationship is spiritual and is expressed in many ways. It is a Paternal relationship, loved by the Father.  It is a Marriage relationship, sealed by a covenant.  It is a Brotherly relationship, marked by closeness. It is a Family relationship, marked by unity. It is a Friend relationship, marked by trust and closeness.  Knowing the Lord Jesus Christ is much more than facts. It is to know Him personally by being united to Him.   “I am the vine, ye are the branches ” (John 15:5) .   -preacher John Chapman

PREDESTINATION AND PROVIDENCE

In old eternity, the Lord decreed the salvation of His chosen people through the obedience unto death of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  To bring about this salvation, the Lord predestinated all that shall ever be and in providence is carrying out His foreordained will.  While predestination has to do with the people of God (see Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 1:5, 11) , it necessarily includes the origin, existence and end of everything.   Providence is God directing all things to the end He has determined in order to accomplish that which He ordained for His people.  Predestination has to do with the infinitely wise counsel and purpose of God while providence has to do with His inexhaustible power and irresistible work in fulfilling that purpose.  You may be sure that where there is the decreed will of God ( predestination ) there shall be divine activity to perform that will ( providence ).  What the Lord has predestinate...

Encouraging Words for Afflicted Saints

PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS Tune: “At Calvary” 9.9.9.4. w/chorus Words by Jim Byrd   Son of God, one of the trinity, Came to earth, O what a mystery; He descended by divine decree. O praise His Name!  Chorus.   Chorus:   Jesus kept the law of God for me, Paid my debt of sin on Calvary; By His grace He saves eternally, O praise His Name.   On the cross He bore our misery, Died from sin to set His people free; By Himself He won the victory, O praise His Name!  Chorus.   Now for us the Savior intercedes, Unto Him the Holy Spirit leads; Every blessing from His throne proceeds, O praise His Name!  Chorus.   Soon will come the long-awaited day, Christ will come and take His bride away; Never from His blessed side to stray, We’ll praise His Name.  Chorus.   Then together in a perfect place, All the ransomed shall behold His face; Evermore to sing of sovereign grace, And praise His Name!  Chorus.     -------O------- ENCO...

LORD God Help Us to Walk in Thy Spirit!

"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." -Galatians 5:25 [KJV] These two things the enemy of souls works powerfully against. (1st.) To keep sinners from coming to Christ for salvation. (2d.) When they are come, to prevent their enjoying the comfortable knowledge that Christ is their Saviour. And our own legal hearts, and wicked natures, join the enemy of our peace and salvation in both. But love lives and reigns above.    Our Saviour sees how it is with us, and sends the power of His Spirit to help, relieve, and comfort us. The dear Spirit, when dead in sin, quickens us: then He guides us in our walk. What need we then of exhortations? Much, very much; for, consider, The walk is ours: to order our steps aright, is the work of the Holy Spirit. (3d.) Our comfortable enjoyment of our interest in Christ, is experienced in a holy walk, or walking in the Spirit. The battle is the Lord’s. Yet David was to engage and conquer Goliath. The LORD gave him ...

What is the Longing & Desire of Your Heart?

"To see Thy power and Thy glory, so as I have seen Thee in the sanctuary." -Psalm 63:2 [KJV] My soul! knowest thou what it is, at times, to be sensible of a barrenness of spiritual enjoyments? If at the house of God, to be cold and lifeless there? If at home, or unable to attend the place where God's honour dwelleth, yet there also to be without the Bethel-visits of thy Lord? Behold one of old, in a wilderness state, feeling the same. But do not fail to remark also, in the very breathings of the soul after Christ, how plainly his soul was under the sweet influences of Christ: David did not so much long for the temple service, as for the presence of the God of the temple . Remark also the peculiarity of expression: he longed to see the Lord's power and glory, so as he had seen Him in times past. God in Christ is Jehovah's power and glory; and the sanctuary without Him, would be no better than the wilderness. What a beautiful devout frame of mind was t...

The Living Alone See & Know the Son of God

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God."   -I Corinthians 2:12 [KJV] What thick clouds of darkness spread themselves at times over our souls; all things out of sight; our signs and tokens buried, as it were, in mist. It is like a sea fog, that comes out of the bosom of the vasty deep, and hides all objects from view. The ships are on the sea, notwithstanding, but this deep fog prevents their being seen. So with our souls at times, all is misty, cloudy, and no signs can be seen of the work of God upon our hearts. And yet we "know" them, by receiving the Spirit of God, for it is the only way whereby they can be known. We can only see light in God's light; only believe by God's faith; only love by God's love; therefore can only know the things freely given to us of God by the revelation of the Spirit. What we know savingly, experiment...
