"And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know H im that is true, and we are in H im that is true, even in H is Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life." - I JOHN 5:20 [KJV] When the Lord Jesus is pleased in some solemn hour to reveal Himself to our soul, when He graciously condescends to take the veil from off our heart that we may behold His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth, when He kindly favours us with some manifestation and discovery of Himself as the Son of God, the brightness of the Father's glory and the express image of His Person, then we know that the Son of God is come. How do you know that the sun rose this morning? By the light which rose with it. So we may say, spiritually, "How do you know that the Son of God is come?" If you notice, much of the news that is printed and broadcast in our day is full of “may” or “could” or “might.” A new medicine “may” help certain physical conditions. Something “could” have this effect politically. An individual “might” do such and such. Not news but speculation! That is the news of man: he might possibly do something but nothing is for sure! That is why the gospel of the grace of God in Christ is always “good news” to His believing people. In the gospel of Jesus Christ there is a clear proclamation of the will and purpose of the eternal God. False religion emphasizes what God will do if men and women do certain things but the true gospel declares what God has done. He has loved a people with an everlasting love, chosen them in Christ out of Adam’s fallen race, put them in an everlasting covenant of which Christ is the Angel...

"Looking unto Jesus the a uthor and f inisher of our faith" -H EBREWS 12:2 [KJV] Faith, dear reader, is neither encouraged nor discouraged by anything we find in ourselves; it is neither encouraged by our graces nor discouraged by our sinfulness; for faith LOOKS OUT OF SELF UNTO ANOTHER. Nothing will afford such encouragement to believing prayer as a sight of the LAMB on His mediatorial throne [REVELATION 5:6 ] . No matter how desperate may be our case, how often we have failed and fallen, how low we have sunk, it is ALWAYS the believer’s privilege to turn unto his Redeemer and say, “ Look Thou upon me, and be merciful UNTO ME, as Thou usest to do unto those that love Thy name” [PSALM 119:132 ] . - Gospel report by preacher A rthur W. Pink (1886-1952 A.D.)
