A Prayer for God's Blessings

Bless Thy people, gracious Lord, As we gather round Thy Word; Give Thy servant at this hour, Words directed by Thy pow’r; Grant Thy grace that we may be, Led to worship only Thee. Let us join to sing Thy praise, May each heart this anthem raise; Praise Thee for Thy love and grace, Which chose out of Adam’s race; Multitudes to know Thy name, Sovereign mercy we proclaim! Give us ears Thy voice to hear, Stir within us holy fear; Teach us of Thy Son who died, Who the law has satisfied; Stubborn wills O Lord subdue, With Thy grace our hearts endue. Send Thy Word by grace divine, To this needy heart of mine; I am sinful, I confess, Robe me with Thy righteousness; All the praise shall ever be, Thine throughout eternity. -Tune: “ROCK OF AGES” 7.7.7.7. Words by preacher Jim Byrd

Bringing Grace

“ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly, in this present world.” -Titus 2:11-12 [KJV] Bringing grace is a new covenant blessing. My heart delights in a bringing God. My spirit rejoices in a bringing Savior. My whole soul glories in a bringing Holy Ghost. Isaiah declares that when human means and efforts all failed, “And He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore, His arm it sustained Him” (Isaiah 59:16) . The blessed Spirit brings glad tidings of good things in the gospel, in precious promises, home to the heart of God’s redeemed. Zacchaeus knew something about it when his gracious Savior said to him, “This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham” (Luke 19:9) . The poor fellow who fell among thieves enjoyed this bringing grace when the Good Samaritan “came

The Good Soldiers Prospect

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." -II Timothy 2:3 [ KJ V] "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." -II Timothy 4:8 [ KJ V] Christian soldier, for encouragement in every conflict, look up to your Captain for supplies and look forward to the glory that awaits you. The war will soon be over. Your discharge will soon be signed and sent to you. Home is even now in view! The promised land will be far above our greatest expectations. The glory to be revealed will far exceed our most enlarged desires. The weight of glory will transcend our most comprehensive thoughts. A crown is reserved for you. Not a corruptible crown of laurel or myrtl e but a diadem. A diadem of glory! More durable than gold, more costly than any earthy monarch's crown. Gold, pearls, and precious sto
