We have been called out of darkness into light ( I Peter 2:9) . We have been called through the Gospel, and by the preaching of the Gospel ( II Thes salonians 2:14) . We are called to be sons, children of God ( I John 3:1) . Because of our calling we have liberty in Christ, Freedom in Christ! This joy may be very transient: we may have to look upon it through a vista of many years; and doubts and fears may becloud the mind whether we ever rejoiced truly in Christ, or whether our joy might not have been "the joy of the hypocrite" that perisheth.
