A Christian is the greatest freeman in the world

He is free from . . . the curse of the law, the wrath of God, , Hell and damnation!   -Gospel report by preacher Richard Sibbes (1577 – 1635 A.D.)

All of Grace or None of Grace

“ If God saved you in light of His consideration of something in you, no matter how small, it could not be grace! No amount of immorality can hinder God in His work of grace, and no amount of morality can commend one’s self to God. If one sin or one thousand of them can hinder a soul in the reception of grace, it ceases to be grace. If any amount of works can commend one to God, it ceases to be grace.”    — Gospel report by preacher A. D. Against the Notion of Moral Ability – It Is of FREE GRACE!

“ The Scriptures and the experience of every true Christian declare against the notion that a natural man has the moral capacity of believing in or turning to Christ. Man’s only refuge is in the free grace of God. The idea of creature ability will soon be destroyed in the heart of him who hath had any spiritual dealings with Jesus Christ as to His merits and righteousness.  Christ is every way too magnificent a Person for poor nature to apprehend. Christ is so infinitely holy, human nature durst not look at Him; so infinitely good that nature can never believe Him when it has a full sight of sin and guilt. Christ is too high and glorious for nature so much as to touch. There must be a DIVINE NATURE first put into the soul to make a man lay hold on Him who lies so infinitely beyond his natural sight.  That Christ which a natural man can apprehend is but a “christ” of his own making, not Christ Jesus the Son of the Living God, to Whom none can come without the Father’s dr

Salvation for the Glory of God Alone

Oh, that we had more preachers today who would preach a salvation that is for THE GLORY OF GOD ALONE, instead of merely for the benefit of man alone. Not man-centered, but God-centered is that true salvation because it is “by grace through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast” (E PHESIANS 2:8-9) . Did you know what almost drove people crazy during the old Puritan age was that those God-ordained preachers never stopped showing man the condition of the sinner, and the almighty power of God’s grace to save such sinners. They preached it, day in and day out, and that type of preaching turned their world around. And, brethren, I want to assure you that the only hope we have today is that very same preaching! And it is all for this purpose: “That NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE. But of H im are ye in Christ Jesus, W ho of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption: t hat, ac

THE DOOR

“ Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep .” -J OHN 10:7 [KJV]   I love how the Lord always teaches His people through things that they can understand. We all know what a door is. It is a way of access. It is a way of entrance. A door is used to let some in. A door is the means to keep some in and shut others out. How beautiful a “door” illustrates who and what Christ is to the believing sinner. Christ is not just “a door,” He is “ the door.” There is no other door. He is the only door. There is only “ ONE Mediator between God and men, THE MAN CHRIST JESUS ” ( I T IMOTHY 2:5) . Christ is the door of the sheep. He is not the door for goats. He is not the door for the whole world. He is the only access that the sheep have to God . He said, “I am the door: by M e if any man enter in, he shall be saved…” We can only enter in by Him (JOHN 10:9) . Sinners cannot enter of themselves; they are dead in trespasses and s

Glory to God in the highest!

“ Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be M y disciples.” -J OHN 15:8 [KJV] When the Lord Jesus Christ was upon the earth H e was in a suffering state; and to this suffering image must all H is people be conformed. In that suffering state H e brought glory to God, and is now exalted to the right hand of the Father. So those who suffer with H im will be also glorified together; and glorious indeed they will be, for they will shine like the stars forever and ever, resplendent in the glorified image of the Son of God. The Apostle therefore says, “When Christ who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with H im in glory.” The Lord did not assume angelic nature. He therefore did not adorn or beautify it; but by assuming our nature, the flesh and blood of the children into union with H is own divine Person, H e invested it with surpassing luster. This is the foundation on which a redeemed sinner brings glory to God, not in H imself, bu
