GOD’S PROMISE TO HIS NATION

There is a promise that belongs to God’s redeemed and believing people in every age and in every circumstance. It is the promise of peace. Not peace without turmoil but peace in the midst of turmoil. This world, no matter what group rules it, since they are all sinners like us, will have trouble. Greed, thirst for power and glory, the very displays of the same fallen nature that plagues us will be demonstrated by them. So our peace will not come by what they do and certainly not by fretting over the state of affairs in our nation and world. No, this promise of peace is found in Isaiah 26:3 “ Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” But as in all the promises of God there is a character described of those to whom it belongs. In this promise it is, “ him… whose mind is stayed upon Thee.” It belongs to those “ looking unto Jesus.” Those who trust in God. “ In God We Trust” is inscribed on the money of our nation b
"God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of H is Son Jesus Christ our Lord." - I CORINTHIANS 1:9 [KJV]   Nothing distinguishes the divine religion of the saint of God, not only from the dead profanity of the openly ungodly, but from the formal lip-service of the lifeless professor, so much as communion with God. How clearly do we see this exemplified in the saints of old. God accepted the offering, and "testified of his gifts" by manifesting his divine approbation. Here was fellowship between Abel and God. Enoch "walked with God;" but how can two walk together except they be agreed? And if agreed, they are in fellowship and communion. Abraham was "the friend of God;" "The Lord spake to Moses face to face;" David was "the ma

The Purpose of Almighty God Shall Stand

"There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand." - PROVERBS 19:21 [KJV] Let men make their plans and set out to accomplish what their hearts intend to fulfill, only that which God has ordained will come to pass. Let men declare the great accomplishments they will achieve, they cannot change the counsel of the Lord. Let men make their determinations, yet the decree of God shall stand. Let men boast of the power of the human will, yet the sovereign purpose of God shall be accomplished. Let men foolishly speak of letting God do this or that, yet the Lord of Glory has declared, "I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it" [ISAIAH 46:11 ] . - Gospel report by preacher Jim Byrd
