Thought for the Day ~ 01 July, 2026 A.D.

To fall into sin is a serious thing, even though the guilt of it be forgiven. A boy who had often been disobedient was made by his father to drive a nail into a post for each offense. When he was well-behaved for a day he was allowed to draw out one of the nails. He fought against his temper bravely, and at last all the nails were gone from the post, and his father praised him. “Alas, father,” said the lad, “the nails are all gone, but the holes are left!” Even after forgiveness it will require a miracle of grace to recover us from the ill effects of sin . -copied

Attention: True vs. False Doctrine

TWO DIFFERING DOCTRINES REGARDING JESUS CHRIST’S ATONEMENT Limited Atonement (aka Particular Redemption, Substitutionary Atonement, Accomplished Atonement) Unlimited Atonement (aka General Atonement, Universal Atonement, Conditional Atonement) Christ died for “many”, not for all without exception (Isaiah 53:11, 12; Matthew 20:28; 26:28; Hebrews 9:28) . Christ died for all without exception, not for only “many”. Christ died for particular sinners identified by Jehovah as “My people” (Isaiah 53:8; cp. Matthew 1:21; John 15:13f; Acts 20:28 / Ephesians 5:25; John 10:11) . Christ died for all in general, for no one in particular. Christ died to redeem sinners “out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9) . Christ died to redeem everyone in every tribe and tongue and people and nation. Jehovah declares Christ died as the substitute for the “many” who are “My people” and that He justified them all (Isaiah 53:8, 11) . Christ died as the substitute for all witho...

Unashamed

"I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ."   - Romans 1:16 [KJV]   Says Mr. Bunyan, “Of all the men that I met with in my pilgrimage, Shame, I think, bears the wrong name. This boldfaced Shame would never have done. I could scarcely shake him out of my company. He would be continually haunting me, and whispering me in my ear. Indeed, this Shame is a bold villain,” ( Pilgrim’s Progress .) Have you not found the same? Lord, pardon Thy servant, that this shame still cleaves unto me. Lord, I am ashamed of myself, that I ever should be ashamed of Thee and Thy gospel. Lion of the tribe of Judah, drive away this shame from my heart.    Consider, (1st.) its origin. It is begotten by pride . We are proud of our good names, our characters, our reason, and understanding, among the men of the world. If we openly profess the gospel of Christ, and live and walk under the influence of it, we cannot do as the rest of the world does. Hence, we shall soon get a nick-name...

This Glorious, Blessed & Joyful Subject...

"I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him. And there was given Him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." - Daniel 7:13, 14  [KJV]   Bless the Lord, my soul, who giveth thee "songs in the night,"  from the night visions of the prophet. Read this sweet scripture, explained as it is, most fully and completely, by the evangelists, in their account of Jesus, as "the Son of man;" and what a wonderful coincidence and agreement is there between them! It is in the human nature of the Lord Christ, that the glories of this kingdom shine so full and resplendent.  The Ancient of Days can be no other than God the Father, who is truly the Ancient of Days, being...

God's Mysterious Dealings

"My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness." -II Corinthians 12:9 [KJV]   How mysterious are God's dealings! That such a highly-favoured man as Paul should come down from the "third heaven" to the very gates of hell (that is not too strong an expression, for "the messenger of Satan" came from hell), that he should sink in soul-feeling to the very gates of hell, there to be buffeted by "the messenger of Satan;" and all to teach him a lesson that heaven did not teach him, the strength of God made perfect in weakness! Do you not think, that if we are to learn our weakness, we must learn it in the same way? How did Paul get his religion? And must we not get ours, in our feebler measure, through the same channels, by the same means, and by the same inward teachings?    If we are to learn the secret of Christ's strength, it is not by making daily advances in fleshly holiness, and getting strong...
