In Love

"God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." - I JOHN 4:16 [KJV] Love is communicative. This is a part of its very nature and essence. Its delight is to give, and especially to give itself; and all it wants or asks is a return. To love and to be beloved, to enjoy and to express that ardent and mutual affection by words and deeds,—this is love's delight, love's heaven. To love, and not be loved,—this is love's misery, love's hell. God is love. This is His very nature, an essential attribute of His glorious being; and as He, the infinite and eternal Jehovah, exists in a Trinity of distinct Persons, though undivided Unity of Essence, there is a mutual, ineffable love between Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. To this mutual, ineffable love of the three Persons in the sacred Godhead the Scripture abundantly testifies: "The Father loveth the Son;" "And hast loved them as T hou hast loved M e;" "...

In Christ

“ No man knoweth the Father, save the Son and he to whom the Son will reveal H im.” - MATTHEW 11:27 [KJV] Men may believe in God, but there is no way that they can know the living God except in Christ. They may know of His existence, but His essence and glory are only revealed in Christ. They may know of His works, but His will and wisdom are only seen in Christ. They may know of His power, but His purpose and decrees are only revealed in Christ. They may be acquainted with His miracles, but His mercy and grace are only received in Christ. They may behold His judgments, but His justice satisfied and honored is only revealed in Christ. If we miss a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus, we may talk of God all our lives and never really know Him. -Gospel report by preacher Henry Mahan (1926–2019 A.D.)

Sovereign Mercy Is Royal Kindness

If God is pleased to bestow saving mercy, is that not His prerogative? And is it not also His right, if He shows mercy, to bestow it upon whom He will? Mercy is not a matter of debt, but of royal kindness which God gives when and where it seems good in His sight. "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy." Though men balk at the thought of distinguishing kindness, their complaint has no merit. The King declares, "Is it not lawful for Me to do what I will with Mine own?" - Gospel report by preacher Jim Byrd
