GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST

"Not unto us, O L ORD , not unto us, but unto T hy name give glory, for T hy mercy, and for T hy truth's sake." - PSALM 115:1 [KJV]   Many of God's dear children cannot get much beyond gentle intimations of His mercy, passing touches of His gracious hand, and softenings of heart under a sense of undeserved goodness and love; yet they feel sensibly relieved by what their faith thus lays hold of and brings in, and give glory to God. Sometimes again, as they hear the preached word and get a blessing under, it, or some precious promise comes home to their soul with divine power, or they are favoured in secret prayer, and light and life break in upon their mind, they see such a glory in what is thus made known to them that they glorify God for what they see and feel. But more especially when the way of salvation is opened up to them; when Christ is revealed to their soul by the power of God; when they see that wondrous plan unfolded, how God can be just, ...

FLEE TO CHRIST JESUS TODAY!

It would be good for all to think about that man Noah in the light of present religious thinking. Noah was a man who wasn’t seeking God but God in grace found him and made him the object of His grace in Christ! His faith [HEBREWS ch. 11] was the evidence of God’s grace to and in him not the cause of it. His preaching was about righteousness not about morality, politics or life lessons. Being a “ preacher of righteousness,” he was the only true gospel preacher on earth at the time. He preached a hundred and twenty years and didn’t have a convert outside of his own family. His was the only church on earth but there were only eight members. He was a man of one message... “ flee to the ark for safety.” That ark was a type of Christ crucified and so he continued to preach as he built it at God’s command. Can you imagine the ridicule and scoffing he endured as he built a boat when there was no water to float it in, no rain falling? Why did he do it? Because he believ...

Great News!

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, ( and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, ) full of grace and truth." -J OHN 1:1, 14 [KJV] If ever there were two verses to be marked with special emphasis, it would be these. They speak of the deity of Christ and His humanity. The Son of God did not cease to be all that He was, and yet He became what He was not before, flesh. As God He could render perfect obedience to all the divine requirements. As Man He could suffer divine wrath and die in the stead of His people. Consider this amazing fact, the union of God and Man in one Person is indissoluble and forever. "He (the God-Man) ever liveth to make intercession for us" [HEBREWS 7:25 ] . - Gospel report by preacher Jim Byrd 13th Street Baptist church of Ashland, Kentucky USA Please find enclosed link to audio Gospel sermons ...
