Audio Gospel Message ~ "Looking for a City"

Looking for a City / What if God Called You to Leave Everything… Would You Go?   -preacher Henry Mahan (37 minutes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NjdSs6WB3Q   Discover the powerful truth of faith, obedience, and God’s divine calling through the life of Abraham in this deep sermon from Hebrews chapter 11. This message explores how God sovereignly calls His people, just as He called Abraham out of a pagan land into a life of faith. Learn what it truly means to walk by faith, not by sight, obey God without guarantees, and live as a pilgrim in this world. 📖 Key themes covered: God’s effectual and sovereign call to salvation Faith that acts on God’s promises (not visible results) Leaving the old life behind to follow Christ Living as a stranger in this world Looking toward a heavenly city built by God This sermon also highlights how believers today are called to: ✔ Hear God through His Word ✔ Step out in obedience like Abraham ✔ Trust God without knowing the outcome ✔ Seek ...

Who Gets The Glory in Salvation? God or Men?

"No man has a true desire for the salvation of men's souls who does not first have a desire for God to be honored and glorified above all things. The individual who believes or preaches a gospel in which God is not glorified, one in which His justice is not fully satisfied as His grace is shown, not only doesn't truly desire to see men's souls saved but most likely is not saved himself.    A salvation which does not begin with God, which is not provided for altogether by God, which does not save all whom He purposes to save and which does not keep all He saves ...does not glorify God.  The chief end of all things in salvation as well as in general is the glory of God."   -preacher Gary Shepard

The Preciousness of GOD's Imputed Righteousness

The older I get the more precious Christ’s imputed righteousness is to me. Here is a truth about which we cannot say too much.    (1) THE ETERNALITY OF IMPUTATION. God eternally justified and declared His people to be righteous in the Son of God. He has always been, “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS“ (Jeremiah 23:6) . How could God justify and pronounce His people to be righteous even before the Savior died? Our sins were charged to Him before the world was made, and God looked to our Surety for satisfaction to His justice. From old eternity we have been “accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6) .    (2) THE LEGALITY OF IMPUTATION. The Savior’s death was a justice-satisfying transaction between the Father and the Son. The sins of His people having been charged to our Substitute, Christ died and rendered full payment for the wages of our sins. Don’t underestimate the importance of the  legality of salvation. The greatest issue of all time is, “How...

The Blessed Man?

WHO IS THE BLESSED PERSON? Psalm 32:1-2 Who would you say is the truly blessed man? Most people would probably say, “Well, it is the person who has good health, if you have good health you have everything.” To them I would answer, good health is only temporary. One day soon the flesh must wither and die and after that is judgment (Psalm 103:14; Isaiah 40:6; Hebrews 9:27) . Others might answer and say, “That the person who is wealthy, surely he is a blessed man.” Again, wealth may purchase a lot of things and influence many people, but we can be sure that we are not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold (I Peter 1:18). David in this Psalm gives us the right answer to this very important and sobering question. " Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile ." Truly, here is the statement of the Almighty God that identifies who is...

God's Free and Sovereign Grace!

The doctrine of God’s free and sovereign grace is the greatest encouragement to poor lost, helpless sinners.  One who knows himself to be without merit before God, with no plea to make unto God but for mercy, will he not be glad to hear that the Lord does not look for worthiness in those He saves?  Will he not be glad to hear that God has freely provided the only plea which He will accept— the life, death and mediation of His Son, the Lord Jesus ?  Will it not make his heart glad to learn that God saves sinners freely and sovereignly , through faith in His Son?                    NO MAN , though ever so sinful and vile, is discouraged by the gospel of the free and sovereign grace of God in Christ Jesus!  And NO MAN , notwithstanding how moral and humanly good, can have any ground of true hope without this gospel!       ...

Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 08 June, 2026 A.D.

"Unto Him who hath loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood."   - Revelation 1:5 [KJV]   Paul denounces the most dreadful curse upon every one who loves not the Lord Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 16:22.) Why does any sinner love Christ? Because he believes the love of Christ to sinners. See the awful curses of unbelief. It rejects the love of Christ: It sets at nought His salvation: It seals the sinner under the curse of his sins, the wrath due to his sins; and binds him over to eternal damnation for his sins. But the unawakened sinner smiles at all this: For he does not believe one word of it. Lord, leave not my soul under this sin of sins, of all sins the most heinous and cursed! O help my unbelief!     (1st.) See the preciousness of faith. It works by love; even by the love of Christ manifested to us. It receives and embraces His love to the heart: there it works peace in the conscience, delight in God, access to God, boldness before God,...

REJOICE WITH JOY UNSPEAKABLE & FULL OF GLORY

"Whom having not seen, ye love; in Whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable, and full of glory; receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls." -I Peter 1:8, 9 [KJV]   My soul! mark what a blessed testimony believers of the present hour are here said to give to an unseen, but dearly beloved Redeemer; and behold what blessed effects are induced in the soul by such lively acts of faith upon His person and righteousness! And, indeed, when it is considered who Christ is, what He is to us, what He hath done for us, and what He is for ever doing for us, and will do to all eternity, who but must love Him? In His person all divine perfections center; whatever tends to make any creature lovely, in heaven or on earth, is found in Jesus in the most eminent degree.    For there is nothing lovely in creatures of any character, whether angels or men, but it is derived from Him: it is Jesus who gives all that exce...

The Trial of Faith

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." -II Corinthians 4:17 [KJV]   O ye suffering saints of God! ye tried and afflicted children of the most High! raise up your thoughts as God may enable you—lift up your eyes, and see what awaits you. Are you tried, tempted, exercised, afflicted? It is your mercy. God does not deal so with every one. It is because you are His children, that He lays on you His chastening hand. He means to conform you to the image of His Son in glory, and therefore He now conforms you to the image of His Son in suffering.    'O but,' you say, 'I cannot believe it is so!' No; if you could, it would not be much of a trial. This is the trial of faith—to go groaning on, struggling on, sorrowing on, sighing on; believing against unbelief, hoping against hope; and still looking to the Lord , though there is everything in nature to damp the hopes and exp...
