Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 04 April, 2026 A.D.

"In Christ there is no further perfection to attain.   In Christ, a sinner is made to be everything that God requires him to be. In Christ, wisdom is complete, righteousness is complete, sanctification is complete, and redemption is complete.   To know Him is to know it all, and to have Him is to   have it all. In Christ, we are as perfectly complete as we will ever be (I Corinthians 1:30). WARNING, Re: "Free-Will" False Teaching

"The belief in free will is nothing more or less than a declaration of independence from God’s sovereign will !   It is what Satan tempted Eve with in the Garden of Eden, and it is what he uses to attempt to undermine the Gospel today.   Thank God that His sovereign will will not allow Satan’s scheme to be successful!   It was, is, and alway will be, “So then, it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy” (Romans 9:16) .   -copied

Weakness, Fear & Much Trembling...

What sacred Fountain yonder springs Up from the Throne of God And all new covenant blessings bring? ’Tis Jesus’ precious blood. What mighty sum paid all my debt When I a bondman stood And has my soul at freedom set? ’Tis Jesus’ precious blood. What stream is that which sweeps away My sins just like a flood Nor lets one guilty blemish stay? ’Tis Jesus’ precious blood. What voice is that which speaks for me In Heaven’s high court for good And from the curse has set me free? ’Tis Jesus’ precious blood.   -Gospel hymn, “O God Our Help”     ==============   Paul said to the church at Corinth is his initial visit with them, “I   was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling” (I Corinthians 2:3) .   Upon the surface, do we want someone who speaks as the representative of God to speak with that kind of demeanor?   Would we not prefer someone speaking with the demeanor of strength, courage, and confidence? Yes, on any other subject, but...

THE VICTORY OF FAITH OVER THE DREAD OF WRATH

"By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king." -Hebrews 11:27 [KJV] Here we see faith opposed by fear, and the victory of faith over the dread of wrath. Consider his work and his danger; his faith and his safety. (1st.) Moses was engaged in a great work. He was to go to Pharaoh, and say from the Lord, “Israel is My son, even My first-born son: let him go, that he may serve Me” (Exodus 4:23.) Now, might not the king very naturally look upon Moses as a very dangerous, pestilent, hot-headed enthusiast, who, under a pretence of religion, wanted to raise a rebellion in his kingdom? He had to fear, that the king might put him to death in his wrath. “For the wrath of a king is as the roaring of a lion”   (Proverbs 19:12.) Most terribly fierce! But, (2d.) consider his faith. This set him above fear: he bids defiance to wrath. Forsake Egypt, he must; flee from the king, he was determined: for he had the command of his God for it. Faith is the parent of...

Our LORD JESUS' Great Affliction

"Thy rebuke hath broken My heart." -Psalm 69:20 [KJV] Hast thou, my soul, still upon thee the solemn savour of thy morning meditation? Surely Gethsemane is not forgotten by thee! Pause over the subject; and from the whole mass of the soul sufferings of thy Lord, behold what crowned the whole: " Thy rebuke , (saith Jesus to the Father,) Thy rebuke hath broken My heart ." To search into the depths of this mediation is impossible; for who shall describe it? What human, or even angelic intellect can fathom the profound subject? That this was the greatest and heaviest weight in the whole curse, we may venture to suppose: because we read of nothing which bore so hard upon the holy Jesus, amidst all His agonies, as the Father's rebuke. It was this which "broke His heart." My soul! repeat the solemn scripture, as if Jesus was in the moment uttering the words: "Thy rebuke hath broken My heart."  Precious Lord! could not this have been sp...

Regarding the Teaching of God's Disciples

"And when they were alone, He expounded all things to His disciples." -Mark 4:34 [KJV] What is the exact meaning of the word disciple ? It means properly a learner , one who is under a teacher, whose submissive and devoted pupil he has become, and from whom he receives continual instruction. And thus a disciple of Christ is one who is admitted by the Lord Jesus into His school, whom He Himself condescends personally to instruct, and who therefore learns of Him to be meek and lowly of heart. A disciple of Jesus is one who sits meekly at the Redeemer's feet, receiving into his heart the gracious words which fall from His lips. This was Mary's happy posture, whom the Lord commended for choosing the better part. Such is also the posture of all the saints of God, according to the ancient declaration, "Yea, He loved the people; all His saints are in Thy hand; and they sat down at Thy feet, every one shall receive of Thy words" (Deuteronomy 33:3) .
