The Power of Almighty God in His Gospel

"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." -I C ORINTHIANS 1:18 [KJV] The preaching of salvation by the grace of God alone by the crucified Christ, the preaching of righteousness, peace and reconciliation by the blood of His cross, the preaching of a sufficient sacrifice and atonement by Christ offering up Himself on the cross in our room and stead is sheer nonsense to those who are perishing, whether they are in the church or the world. But unto us who are being saved by the power and grace of God, this gospel is both the power of salvation and a revelation of the wisdom of God. We see in Christ crucified our deliverance from the curse of the law, and we see in Christ crucified how God can be both just and Justifier of those who believe [ROMANS 8:1, 33, 34; 3:19-26 ] . - Gospel report by preacher Henry Mahan Please find enclosed link to audio Gospel sermons: htt...

IN THE MASTER'S EVERLASTING ARMS

"They that trust in the LORD" can never be removed from His heart’s love, nor out of the covenant of His grace, which is sure and everlasting; nor out of His family, into which they are taken. They can never be removed from the Lord Jesus Christ, nor out of His hands and arms, nor from off His heart, nor from off Him as the foundation on which they are laid. They can never be removed out of the state of grace of regeneration and justification. These abide in the love of God, in the covenant of His grace, in the hands of His Son, in the grace wherein they stand, and in the house of God for evermore. - Gospel report preacher John Gill (1697–1771 A.D.)

GOD's WORD

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom." -C OLOSSIANS 3:16 [KJV]   This surely means something more than merely reading the word in a careless, formal manner. It is "to dwell in us," that is, take up its firm and lasting abode in our heart, and that "richly;" not poorly and niggardly, but copiously and abundantly, unfolding to us and putting us into possession of the wealth of its treasures; and that in "all wisdom," making us wise to salvation, opening up to us the manifold wisdom of God, and how it displays itself in the great mystery of godliness.   Now we shall not attain to this rich and heavenly wisdom unless we search and study the Scriptures with prayer and supplication to understand what the Holy Ghost has revealed therein, and what He is pleased to unfold there from of the will and way of God for our own personal instruction and consolation.   We very easily fall off from abiding in Christ; no...

A Prayer for God's people

Oh precious Lord Jesus, cause Thy people to rejoice in Thy full and finished salvation. By Thee, all that believe, are justified from all things [ACTS 13:39 ] . Here then, Lord, give Thy people grace to rest. Let there be nothing wavering, nothing unsettled, in our faith because everything in the covenant of grace is "ORDERED, AND SURE IN ALL THINGS" [II SAMUEL 23:5 ] . Oh for faith, in lively exercise, to believe "the record God hath given of His Son" [I JOHN 5:10-11 ] . "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee" [ISAIAH 26:3 ] . Let all Thy faithful therefore of this present hour, as were the disciples of old, be strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus, and, like them, be filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost. -preacher Robert Hawker
