There grace outshines and exceeds nature, for the teaching and testimony of the blessed Spirit is always demonstrative, that is, convincing beyond the possibility of doubt. It is not demonstration simply we require, not demonstration of the word, as if there were some innate proof and power in the word itself to demonstrate its own truth, though doubtless it is so when the Spirit shines upon it, but it is the "demonstration of the Spirit." People are being lied to by preachers who compromise the truth of God, speak smooth things, brag on the flesh, make God a doddering old grandfather and the Lord Jesus Christ a failing, fumbling, faltering pretender who sure does wish that everybody liked Him. Here is where we are today. A true preacher can tell people who God is, and that the Lord Jesus Christ is not an option but a necessity , and that as God He is the sovereign of all and will either save or destroy forever. The oily preacher comes along and tells the sinner that his freewill is supreme and God can't save unless he allows Him too. Yet in spite of this, the Lord Jesus WILL SAVE HIS PEOPLE! How do I know this? Because the Bible tells me so. Those who believe and teach that Christ died for every man teach contrary to the very character and nature of God Almighty.
