GOD SHOW THYSELF!

"With the merciful Thou wilt shew Thyself merciful; with an upright man Thou wilt show Thyself upright; with the pure thou wilt shew Thyself pure." -Psalm 18:25-26 [KJV] From eternity, Christ became Surety of His people because He is the Merciful Man. He assumed our nature to bear our sin so that justice and mercy harmonize because He is the Upright Man. In order to be the last Adam, the only other man to begin life without sin that He might represent His people, He was born of a virgin declaring He is the Pure Man. No mercy could be given Christ while He suffered the wrath of divine justice in place of His people. But satisfaction being made, redemption accomplished, God the Father raised Him from the dead to His right hand along with all His people who He shall call to Himself. Therefore, in God the Father's work toward Christ His Son and in Christ's work making us merciful, upright and pure in Him, we see, "With the merciful Thou wilt shew Thyself merciful...

Children of Promise

" Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise." - Galatians 4:28 [KJV] Mark, my soul, the distinguishing characters of those who are the children of promise, and see whether thou art of this blessed family. For as the law and the gospel are strikingly distinguished from each other, so are the children of nature from those of grace. And how is this to be known? Look at the case Paul hath referred to: Isaac was the son of Abraham. And the apostle saith, "that they which are of faith, the same are children of Abraham. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." And as Isaac was a child of Abraham by promise, not by natural power, so believers in Jesus are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12, 13).   Hence Paul saith, "to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not to seeds as of many, but as of one; and to Thy seed, which ...

The Way, the Truth and the Life

"The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and My people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?" -Jeremiah 5:31 [KJV] We live in a day much like that of the prophet Jeremiah's day - preachers and politicians tell lies, and the leaders in religion join with and assist them in these lies. What is really sad is that the vast majority of people "love to have it so." People complain about lying politicians, but if one comes along and simply speaks the truth, he would not be elected. I know it is not deemed politically correct in our modern society to say this, but truth is truth. For example, consider what is so great about our Gospel, true Christianity, that lifts it far above other religions? IT IS THE REVELATION OF GOD'S GRACE IN THE GLORIOUS PERSON AND FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST. Other religions have one or more "great" prophets who claim to speak for their god(s). True Christianity has Christ Who is...
