Christ JESUS is our Exceeding Great Reward

"In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble." -Proverbs 15:6 [KJV] How different is the estimate that faith makes of riches, honours, and comforts from that made by the world and the flesh! The world has no idea of riches but such as consist in gold and silver, in houses, lands, or other tangible property; no thought of honour, but such as man has to bestow; and no notion of comfort, except in "fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind." But the soul that is anointed by an "unction from the Holy One," takes a different estimate of these matters, and feels that the only true riches are those of God's grace in the heart, that the only real honour is that which cometh from God, and that the only solid comfort is that which is imparted by the Holy Ghost to a broken and contrite spirit . Now, just in proportion as we have the Spirit of God, shall we take faith's estimate of riches,

Progressive Sanctification?

The idea of progressive sanctification ( when a person acts more and more holy and sins less and less as they get older ) is an idea made up by legalists who are trying to keep people under the law not under grace. The idea of progressive sanctification is nowhere to be found in the Word of God. Don’t confuse growing in grace for growing in holiness. A believer does grow in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness and faith. There are differing degrees of all of those fruits of the Spirit. But there are no degrees of holiness. We are either holy or unholy. There is no middle ground. The believer is not made holy by our works. Christ IS our holiness . “But of H im are ye in Christ Jesus, w ho of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and SANCTIFICATION, and redemption” (I Cor inthians 1:30) . If you would see your holiness, don’t look to your works, look to Christ who is our holiness. If Christ is our sanctification, we are holy! - Gospel rep

Sovereign Grace and Mercy

“ And H e said, I will make all M y goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the L ORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.” -Exodus 33:19 [KJV] Had God not loved a particular people; and had God not been gracious to a particular people and shown mercy to a particular people, not one soul would have ever been saved. We would have never chosen Him had He not chosen us. We would have never loved Him had He not loved us. We would have rejected His mercy and grace had it not been irresistible. Thank God for His sovereignty in all these things toward us. - Gospel report by preacher Gabe Stalnaker Kingsport Sovereign Grace church of Kingsport, Tennessee USA Audio Gospel Sermons & Contact Information here: https://www.sermonaudio.com/source_detail.asp?sourceid=ksgc

The Holiness of God

Because God is holy, acceptance with Him on the ground of creature-doings is utterly impossible. A fallen creature could sooner create a world than produce that which would meet the approval of infinite Purity. Can darkness dwell with Light? Can the Immaculate One take pleasure with "filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6) ? The best that sinful man brings forth is defiled. A corrupt tree cannot bear good fruit. God would deny Himself, vilify His perfections, were He to account as righteous and holy that which is not so in itself; and nothing is so which has the least stain upon it contrary to the nature of God. But blessed be His name, that which His holiness demanded His grace has provided in Christ Jesus our Lord . Every poor sinner who has fled to Him for refuge stands "accepted in the Beloved" (Ephesians 1:6) . Hallelujah! - Gospel report by preacher Arthur W. Pink
