Christ JESUS Ever Has that Pre-Eminence of Eternal Glory

"For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." -Romans 8:29 [KJV] The risen body of Christ is the type to which the risen bodies of the saints are to be conformed, for "as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." This is that glorious image to which the saints are to be all conformed. But though fully retaining all the essential characteristics of humanity, for otherwise it would cease to be manhood in conjunction with Godhead, yet so unspeakably glorious is this risen body of the blessed Lord, to the image of which the risen saints will be conformed, that in this time-state we can not only form no conception of its surpassing glory, but not even of that inferior degree of glory which will clothe the bodies of the saints at the resurrection.  "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appe...

Standing In & Walking by the Faith of JESUS Christ our LORD

" Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall." -I Corinthians 10:12 [KJV] Formal professors of His name are called the Lord’s people, as well as those who are possessors of His love. The former for want of love to God, have no zeal for His glory. Hence, they are careless of their walk, and are liable to fall from the height of a towering profession, into the bottomless pit of perdition. Possessors of God’s love are also liable to fall, though not out of the hands of Christ into hell, yet into many things which may wound their souls, bring a hell into their consciences, a dishonour on the name and gospel of Christ, and give the enemies thereof an occasion to blaspheme that worthy name by which they are called. O, Christians! see to your standing.  You are called upon, as you love your dear Saviour, as you value the peace of God, and the comfort of your souls, “To take heed lest you fall.” Be not high-minded, but fear. You stand by faith...

The Wednesday Word ~ 19 March, 2025 A.D.

FOLLOWING JESUS by D.G. Miles McKee   “ I am born for God only. Christ is nearer to me than father, or mother, or sister - a near relation, a more affectionate Friend; and I rejoice to follow Him, and to love Him. Blessed Jesus! You are all I want -a forerunner to me in all I ever shall go through as a Christian, a minister, or a missionary." -Henry Martyn: 19th century Missionary to India and Persia "My sheep hear My voice, and they follow Me."   -Jesus As believers, our whole life is to be one continuously following the Lord Jesus.      We started our Christian journey by looking to Jesus. Why change this? Remember when you got saved? Looking to Jesus, by faith, brought peace to your soul. It was wonderful, but for many, the wonder has faded.  The reason is tragic, we are no longer looking unto Jesus. Have you moved away from the simplicity in Christ Jesus? Horatius Bonar, one of the mighty Scottish preachers of the 19 th  century said...

It Is JESUS' Righteousness, and His Only

"Oh that I knew where I might find Him, that I might come even to His seat! I would order my cause before Him, and fill my mouth with arguments. Will He plead against me with His great power? No; but He would put strength in me." -Job 23:3, 4, 6 [KJV] My soul, are these thy breathings? Dost thou really long, and, like David, even pant, to come before the throne of grace? Art thou at a loss how to come, how to draw nigh? Wouldest thou fill thy mouth with arguments, and have thy cause so ordered as to be sure not to fail? Look to Jesus! Seek from Him the leadings of the Spirit; and while thine eye is steadily fixed on thy great High Priest within the vail, still wearing a vesture dipped in blood, see to it that thy one great plea is, for a perfect and complete justification before God and thy Father, upon the sole footing of righteousness. Yes, my soul, plead earnestly, heartily, steadily; and, like Jacob, wrestling with God, upon the sole footing of righteousne...

The Power of GOD's Grace

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." -John 3:6 [KJV] There is no promise made that we shall be set free in this life from the in-being and the in-working of sin. Many think that they are to become progressively holier and holier, that sin after sin is to be removed gradually out of the heart, until at last they are almost made perfect in the flesh. But this is an idle dream, and one which, sooner or later in the case of God's people, will be rudely and roughly broken to pieces. Nature will ever remain the same; and we shall ever find that the flesh will lust against the spirit. Our Adam nature is corrupt to the very core. It cannot be mended, it cannot be sanctified, it is at the last what it was at the first, inherently evil, and as such will never cease to be corrupt till we put off mortality, and with it the body of sin and death.  All we can hope for, long after, expect and pray for, is, that this ev...
