Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 11 July, 2026 A.D.

An old writer of many years ago said, “I know not the way God leads me, but well I know my Guide.”  With those words in mind, I wrote the following hymn.

 

GRACIOUS PROVIDENCE

God’s wise and gracious providence

Directs me on my way;

And everything I truly need,

Is given day by day,

How comforting it is to know,

Whate’er my lot may be;

My steps were ordered by the Lord,

From old eternity,

No matter what the future holds,

In this I find sweet rest;

My life is managed by the Lord,

His will I know is best,

The Christ Who governs all the world,

Has saved me by His grace;

And He will lead me on my way,

THE LORD’S CHURCH

 

     The church of the Lord was chosen unto salvation in old eternity, redeemed at Calvary by the blood of Christ and called and quickened by the Holy Spirit through the gospel of grace.  A local assembly, therefore, is not to be labeled as my church, your church or our church; it belongs to none other than the Lord our God.  The fact that the church is the particular property and habitation of our Savior makes it infinitely more glorious than any other group upon the face of the earth.  Let the statesmen and leaders of the countries of the world meet together, rest assured, however, all of them combined do not have any standing or value to the Lord as does His people who meet to worship in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  

 

Those leaders assembled together would not be worth the snap of a finger in comparison to a few believers gathering together to worship in His Name.  Wherever and whenever a group of saints meet together to exalt the Lord, be it a large or small number, the God of glory has promised He will be present.  “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).  What an honor to be numbered among those who make up the church of our Lord.

THE GREAT TRUMPET BLAST ~ The Joyful Sound!

"The great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come, who were ready to perish." -Isaiah 27:13 [KJV] One trumpet has been blown, at the giving of the law, on mount Sinai: the voice of it sounded long, and waxed louder and louder. It made even Moses to fear and quake exceedingly, and all the people tremble. Soon, very soon, (who knows but it may be the next moment, in the twinkling of an eye?) the last trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised (I Corinthians 15:52.)   Tremendous voice! most solemn sound! Light Rising in the Darkness: Take Heart, friends...

"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness." -Psalm 112:4 [KJV] We often get into such dark paths, that we seem altogether out of the secret, and feel as if there were no more grace in our souls, than in one altogether dead in trespasses and sins.
