“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.” -James 4:8-10 [KJV]

Bless God the Father of our Lord, To Him all blessings trace;
He chose us in His precious Son, to save us by His grace.
Predestinated in His love, to be a holy seed; We were adopted to be sons, this God Himself decreed. 

In Christ God chose to save our souls, Through Him all blessings flow; He came into this world of shame, because God loved us so. We have forgiveness through His blood, 
Redemption’s price He paid; For by His death on Calvary, Atonement Jesus made.

God sent His Spirit to our hearts, to seal us by His grace;
He is the Earnest giv’n to all, the chosen, ransomed race.
So sing the praises of our God, The praise of Christ who died; And praise the Spirit for His work; may God be glorified.

 I am As Near as He 


 A mind at perfect peace with God, O what a word is this!
 A sinner reconciled through blood! This, this indeed is peace.

A Man in Christ


I cannot be brought lower by the accusations and charges of men than I was brought to when I died in Christ; nor can I be lifted up higher by the praises of men that I am already exalted in Christ. Nothing alters my state as a justified sinner in Jesus Christ. 

Having eternal life in Him, I cannot be threatened with death nor can I be enticed by promise of reward since I have Him who is all. As a man in Christ why would I want to be somewhere else? What more could you give me? God in grace put me where I am!

Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 19 October, 2025 A.D.

"Behold, he prayeth!"   -Acts 9:11 [KJV] In many trades, it is customary to shew samples or patterns. By these men judge of the goodness or quality of the whole. St. Paul sets himself forth as a sample, or pattern, of the free, distinguishing, sovereign, unmerited grace of God, that we should judge of its nature by its efficacy upon him. “I obtained mercy, for this cause, that in me first   (-a first rate sinner) Jesus Christ may shew forth His all long suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting”   (I Timothy 1:16.) Thou hast seen this pattern of free grace. What dost thou think of it?  The whole is alike with the pattern. It cometh alike upon elect sinners. It finds no more prerequisites, fitness, qualifications, or conditions in any, than it did in St. Paul. Whenever it takes place upon any, it produceth the same effects as it did in him. LORD JESUS, Be Merciful...

" LORD, be merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against Thee." -Psalm 41:4 [KJV] Is this the language of the man after God’s own heart? Was David a saint when he uttered it? Yes, he was a holy man of God. This confession and prayer shew it. His heart was not hardened through the deceitfulness of sin, nor blinded by self-righteous pride, so as to say, “I have no sin.”   Self-righteous hearts cannot away with this, that all the Lord’s saints are yet in themselves miserable sinners; that they daily see need to confess this; and to sue for mercy and healing from the Lord.
