REDEEMED! ~ How I Love to Proclaim It
Redemption is one of the great themes that runs like a scarlet thread through all of Scripture. It begins in Eden, where God slew an animal and covered the nakedness of Adam and Eve. Afterward, Abel offers a better sacrifice than Cain – Abel brings a blood offering, while Cain brings what grew from the cursed ground. When Israel was delivered from Egyptian bondage, a lamb had to be slain, and its blood applied to the doorposts and lintel.
One cannot read the Bible with open eyes and fail to see the unfolding story of redemption on every page. When Christ, the Lamb of God, died on Calvary’s tree, He shed His blood as the price of our redemption – “The precious blood of Christ” (I Peter 1:18-19). Paul declares, “Ye are bought with a price” (I Corinthians 6:20; 7:23). Everyone whom God saves has been Redeemed by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Lamb.
