Are You A Sinner? Do You Need Christ JESUS?

 Someone said, “If I knew I were one of God’s elect, I would come to Christ; but I fear I am not.”  To you I answer - Nobody ever came to Christ because he knew himself to be of the elect.  It is quite true that God has of His good pleasure elected some to everlasting life, but they never knew it until they believed on Christ.  Christ nowhere commands the elect to come to Him.   


He commands all men everywhere to repent and believe the Gospel. The question for you is not, “Am I one of the elect?” but, “Am I a sinner?”  Am I in need of Christ to wash away my sins?  Am I in need of His righteousness to clothe my nakedness?  Is He my one and only hope for salvation?”  Christ came to save sinners.

According to God's Good Pleasure...

"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will." -Ephesians 1:4, 5 [KJV] It is a very solemn but a very true assertion, that no man can quicken his own soul; and it is an equally solemn, we might almost say, a tremendous truth, that the gospel only comes in power to those whom God has chosen unto eternal life.  Indeed the one flows from the other; for if no man can quicken his own soul, it necessarily follows it must be of sovereign grace that it is quickened at all.
