did Jesus come to do?
Was it anything for you?
God does tell us in His Word,
Tell me sinner have you heard?
Jesus came to live and die,
Came to save and not to try.
Sinners chosen long ago,
By the Father, grace bestowed.
Thus the faithful saying goes,
Died for them and then arose.
Now He sits and reigns alone,
Interceding from His throne.
Jesus came and thus He did,
For the chief of sinners shed
His own sinless saving blood,
Washed them clean beneath that flood.
Come to Jesus, sinners now,
There before Him lowly bow.
He whose life He freely gave,
Reigns the Mighty One to save!
