"Salvation is of the LORD." -Jonah 2:9

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." -G ALATIANS 5:1 [KJV] The a postle Paul encourages and inspires every believer to "stand fast," defend at all cost the precious freedom we enjoy in Christ Jesus [JOHN 8:32 ] . Through His perfect blood atonement [HEBREWS 9:12 ] , His provided righteousness imputed [ROMANS 4:6 ] , every believer has been set free; free from the curse of the Law [ G ALATIANS 3:13 ] , free from spiritual death [ E PHESIANS 2:1 ] and free from the condemnation of sin [ R OMANS 8:1 ] . Not only are we instructed to "stand fast," defend and hold to the ground of salvation by free grace in Christ Jesus at all cost, but we are also encouraged NOT to be entangled with the "yoke of bondage" [ G ALATIANS 2:16 ] . Don't be entangled, hampered or ensnared again with the bondage of works and law to obtain the favor and blessings...

"But the salvation of the righteous is of the L ORD : H e is their strength in the time of trouble." -P SALM 37:39 [KJV] Times of trouble try the saint of God, and they are meant to do so; that is the very purpose why they are sent, for "the Lord trieth the righteous." Still the promise holds good: " H e is their strength in the time of trouble." "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." - II TIMOTHY 2:3 [KJV] We often get into states and frames of mind, where we need something else besides consolation. A child would not grow, if it were always fed upon sweetmeats. It must have exercise, and be exposed to the weather, and have the cold winds blow upon its face, and be hardened, so as to enable it to bear the chill winter and the nipping frosts. So the child of God is not always petted, and fed upon love-tokens. He is not always carried in the warm bosom, or sucking the breasts of consolation, but he has to learn lessons to fit him to be a soldier. The soldier, we know, has to endure hardships.
