Christ our Substitute and Head

God’s wisdom formed the vast design To ransom us when lost; And Christ’s own blood and righteousness Provided all the costs. Strict justice with approving look, God’s covenant was sealed; When God incarnate undertook To see the whole fulfilled. Now sin appears deserving death And would its curse impose; But Christ our Substitute and Head Has lived and died and rose. Upon the merits of His blood, Secure and saved by grace; We dare approach the throne of God In Christ who took our place. Hymn: “O For A Thousand Tongues”

Sovereignty belongs unto Almighty God!

"Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world." -A CTS 15:18 [KJV] The sovereignty of God is absolute. To acknowledge this truth is at once to acknowledge that God has foreordained whatsoever comes to pass; that nothing else can come to pass; that predestination is a fact; that God does rule in the kingdoms of men; that all human ties, bonds and relationships are divinely appointed and formed; that salvation rests solely, fully and only in God’s election; that salvation is by God’s grace and His grace alone; and that no part of man’s salvation is of himself either in origin or execution. Where men get the idea that man’s will is the all-determining factor or moving cause of his salvation is hard to see. Certainly they do not get it from the Bible. - Gospel report by preacher Scott Richardson Please find enclosed link to audio Gospel sermons: https://www.sermonaudio.com/search.asp?speakeronly=true&currsection=sermons...

CHRIST IS ALL! encouragement...

"Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." - II PETER 1:10 [KJV] Have you any testimony to your effectual calling? Has grace indeed laid hold of your heart? O that you might know more fully—more powerfully—what a blessed hope of eternal life is laid up in the bosom of this heavenly calling, that it might cheer and encourage you to press on more and more to realise all that is given you in Christ, both for here and hereafter, in present grace and in future glory! In knowing what is the hope of their effectual calling, the saints of God learn that this hope embraces all things which are made theirs in Christ, whether life or death, or things present or things to come, that all are theirs; and for this blessed and all-sufficient reason, that they are Christ's and Christ is God's. It is by making sure our calling that we make sure our election,—for the one is...

Glory to Christ Jesus For Ever

“ I am well satisfied it will not be a burden to me at the hour of death, nor be laid to my charge at the day of judgment, that I have thought too highly of the Lord Jesus Christ, expected too much from Him myself, or labored too much in commending and setting Him forth to others, as the Alpha and Omega, the Lord our righteousness, the sufficient atonement for sin, the only Mediator between God and men, the true God and eternal life. On the contrary, alas! My guilt and grief are that my thoughts of Him are so faint, so infrequent, and my commendations of Him so lamentably cold and disproportionate to what they ought to be.” -Gospel report by preacher John Newton (1725–1807 A.D.)

Why Preach the Gospel to the non-Elect?

When people are confronted with the true gospel of God’s sovereign grace in Christ, they often ask this question: “If those who are not elected will not be saved, then why preach the gospel to them?” 1. It is to be preached to them because God in His infinite wisdom, holiness, righteousness and sovereignty has commanded it to be done. “ And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” [MARK 16:15 ] . 2. It is to be preached to them because their rejection of Christ will reveal their true nature of sin and the reason for their just condemnation and judgment. It leaves men without excuse. “ But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto you” [JOHN 10:27 ] . 3. It is to be preached because it is pleasing to God and it glorifies Him as a just God as well as a Savior. “ Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have...

Looking unto JESUS, "The LORD our righteousness"

"These all died in faith." - H EBREWS 11:13 [KJV] When death came it did not rob them of their faith. They held with their believing hand in death every truth which they had held with their believing hand in life. It is in death that the gospel is such a blessing when held by a believing hand. What should we do upon a dying bed, with all our sins staring us in the face in all their awful magnitude, accused by Satan, condemned by conscience, terrified by a holy law, and frowned upon by an indignant God? What must be our end upon the bed of death if we had nothing to look to but a God who is a consuming fire, with nothing but the bitter recollection of past sins to agonise the mind and distress the conscience? O, if ever faith is needed, it will be needed then; if ever the gospel embraced, embraced then; if ever Christ looked to, looked to then; if ever laid hold of by the hand of faith, laid hold of then! Now if you know what faith is, and your faith ...

GOOD NEWS!

Weekend Gospel message to follow for All Hands (07-09FEB20) Heads-Up --- Please find enclosed encouragement in SO GREAT SALVATION by the perfect and finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy and wretched sinners by His sovereign free grace - God's unmerited favor - from their sins and from Hell: “ To be saved from sins is to be saved from ignoring and despising the authority of God. It is to abandon the course of self-will and self-pleasing. It is to forsake our way; it is to surrender to God’s authority; it is to yield to His dominion; it is to give ourselves over to be ruled by Him. One who has never taken Christ’s yoke upon himself and who is not truly seeking to please Him in all details of life and yet supposing he is resting in Christ is deceived.” -Gospel report by preacher Scott Richardson
