Faithful Sayings for Christ's Honor & Your Own Cheerfulness in Him...

Come ye saints, admire and wonder

Jesus’ matchless love adore

Sing for Sinai’s awful thunder

Shall upon thee burst no more

Sing, though sins are black and large

Sing, for Jesus, by His dying

Set you free from every charge

Set you free from every charge.

Sing, though sense and carnal reason

Fain would stop the joyful sound

Sing, and count it highest treason

For a saint to hold his tongue

Sing aloud, whose holy calling

Your election surely shows

Sing, nor fear a final failing

Jesus’ love no changes knows.

Sing, for you shall heaven inherit

Sing, and ne’re the song be done

Sing, for He alone is worth it

He our sins did all atone

Sing aloud among God’s people

In your heart when all alone

Sing to Father, Son, and Spirit

One in three, and three in One.

Called, Chosen, Faithful

“They that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”  -Revelation 17:14

There are no exceptions to this rule.  All who are with Christ have been called by Christ.  The call heard is the Gospel.  “Whereunto He called you by our Gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ” (II Thessalonians 2:14). The reason they were called is they are chosen.  “According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4). And the evidence they were chosen was that they were faithful.  They believed and they could be believed. “And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.”  -copied

People Ought To Be Asking

“Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.”  - I Peter 3:15

I ought to treat people in such a kind, merciful, and non judgemental way, and to handle the trials the Lord sends me in a way that people ask me the reason for the hope that is in me that makes me conduct myself in such a way.  -copied

Paul expressed the desire to the Thessalonians that, “We might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith” (I Thessalonians 3:10).  That should serve as a reminder to us that there is most certainly something lacking in our faith and that the Lord through His Word would perfect it!   -copied

“To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty,

dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” -Jude 1:25

When we have the mind of Christ, we see God in everything, we see Christ as Everything, we see ourselves as nothing.          -John Chapman

When David brought the ark of the covenant into Jerusalem, the Bible says, “David danced before the LORD with all his might” (II Samuel 6:14).  David was not dancing to impress people.  He was rejoicing before the Lord.  His worship was not controlled by the opinions of others. He was overwhelmed by the presence, goodness, and glory of God.  Michal (his wife, Saul’s daughter) despised David because of the way he worshiped.  But David’s response was powerful: “I will play before the LORD” (vs. 21).  In other words, “My worship is not for the approval of men; it is for the glory of God.”

There is a lesson here for every believer.  When we truly see who Christ is and what He has done for us, we should not allow the opinions of men to silence our worship. We have been redeemed by the blood of Christ, forgiven by His grace, and given a salvation we could never earn.  Let others think what they will.  Let them misunderstand.  Let them criticize.  Christ is worthy of worship!  Like David, may we determine, “I will worship before the LORD.”  -David Eddmenson

To argue that God is “trying His best” to save all mankind, but that the majority of men will not let Him save them, is to insist that the will of the Creator is impotent, and the will of the creature is omnipotent.   - A.W.  Pink

Christ is lovely, Christ is very lovely, Christ is most lovely, Christ is always lovely, Christ is altogether lovely. -Thomas Brooks

The world did not see Christ in Christ and did not see holiness in the Holy One but crucified Him as a vile and wicked man. Do not ever imagine that the world will see Christ or holiness in you.  -copied

There are three classes of servants:

The slave who serves through fear.

The hireling who serves for wages.

And…. The son who serves for love.
