The Greatest Promise — “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 In this powerful Gospel sermon, we look closely at one of the most comforting and glorious promises in Scripture: Jesus Christ promises rest to those who come to Him. What does it really mean to come to Christ?

Where can sinners find forgiveness, peace, salvation, and rest for their souls? This message points us away from human works, religion, morality, and self-righteousness and directs us to Christ alone. Jesus Christ is able to save, willing to save, and faithful to fulfill His promises. Salvation is not found in a denomination, religious profession, good works, or human effort. Salvation is found in a Person—Jesus Christ. This sermon explores:

  • The greatest promise of Jesus Christ
  • Matthew 11:27–30 and the invitation to come to Christ
  • What it means to hear the Gospel with the heart
  • The mercy and grace of God toward sinners
  • Why salvation is found in Christ alone
  • Coming to Jesus by faith
  • Rest from guilt and the burden of sin
  • Rest from fear of judgment and condemnation
  • Rest from the fear of death
  • Eternal security in Christ
  • The power, willingness, and faithfulness of Jesus
  • Growing in Christ and finding deeper rest for your soul
  • The Gospel of grace versus salvation by works
“Come unto Me… and I will give you rest.” If you are weary, burdened by sin, troubled about your salvation, afraid of death, or searching for peace with God, listen carefully to this message and consider the invitation of Jesus Christ.

🙏 Come to Christ. Trust Christ. Rest in Christ.
