Grace Shall Reign Eternally

Sovereign grace o’re sin abounding

Ransomed souls, the tidings swell

’Tis a deep that knows no sounding

Who its breadth or length can tell?

On its glories, On its glories,

Let my soul forever dwell.

Heirs of God, joint-heirs with Jesus

Long ere time its race begun

To His Name eternal praise

O what wonders love hath done!

One with Jesus, One with Jesus,

By eternal union one.

Who from Christ our souls can sever

Bound by everlasting bands

Once in Him, in Him forever

Thus the eternal covenant stands

None can pluck thee, None can pluck thee, from the strength of Israel’s hands.

On such love, my soul, still ponder

Love so great, so rich, so free

Say, while lost in holy wonder

Why, O Lord, such love to me?

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Grace shall reign eternally.

The “god” of This Generation

The “god” of this twentieth century no more resembles the Supreme Sovereign of Holy Writ than does the dim flickering of a candle the glory of the mid-day sun.  The god who is now talked about in the average pulpit, spoken of in the ordinary Sunday School, mentioned in most of the religious literature of the day, and preached in most of the so-called Bible conference is a figment of human imagination, an invention of over-emotional sentimentality.  The heathen outside the pale of Christendom form gods out of wood and stone, while the millions of heathen inside Christendom manufacture a god out of their own carnal minds.
