THE DOCTRINES OF GRACE
In Verse For Singing

 

1. Doctrines of Grace we now will sing
  As to the Lord our thanks we bring;
  For He alone shall have our praise
  Both now and through the endless days.

Total Depravity
2. Our need of grace was due to sin:
  Depraved we were without, within;
  Defiled we were from toe to head;
  And in our spirit we were dead.

Unconditional Election
3. But God in grace made a decree
  Way back in old eternity:
  He chose His foreknown to be saved
  With no condition on them laid.

Limited Atonement
4. Jesus for God’s elect then died:
  Their substitute was crucified;
  Their penalty for sins He paid;
  Atonement for them He has made.

Irresistible Grace
5. God’s people, though they’re dead in sin,
  Are by His Spirit born again.
  None can resist His gracious call;
  To Jesus Christ He draws them all.

Perseverance of the Saints 
6. We saints of God are now secure;
  And to the end we will endure.
  Now as we run our earthly race
  We sing of free and sovereign grace.

Light Rising in the Darkness: Take Heart, friends...

"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness." -Psalm 112:4 [KJV] We often get into such dark paths, that we seem altogether out of the secret, and feel as if there were no more grace in our souls, than in one altogether dead in trespasses and sins. THE GREAT TRUMPET BLAST ~ The Joyful Sound!

"The great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come, who were ready to perish." -Isaiah 27:13 [KJV] One trumpet has been blown, at the giving of the law, on mount Sinai: the voice of it sounded long, and waxed louder and louder. It made even Moses to fear and quake exceedingly, and all the people tremble. Soon, very soon, (who knows but it may be the next moment, in the twinkling of an eye?) the last trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised (I Corinthians 15:52.)   Tremendous voice! most solemn sound! The prophet asks, “Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid?” (Amos. 3:6.)
