BEWARE OF HALF-TRUTHS!

“And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.”   -Genesis 20:12 [KJV]


Abraham lied both to Pharaoh (Genesis 12) and King Abimelech (Genesis 20) by only telling them half the truth.  Half-truths are the same as lying, especially when they are told to deceive another.  That is the problem with modern-day preaching.  So-called preachers are only telling half the truth, if that!  Modern day religion tells men and women that God is love, but it does not tell them that God is Holy.  False preachers tell men and women that God loves sinners, but they do not tell them that God only loves sinners in Christ.   


Half-truths!  They tell sinners that God loves everyone, but they do not tell them that God only loves everyone for whom Christ died.  They tell their listeners that Christ died for everybody, but they do not tell them that Christ only died for everybody that the Father chose and elected  before the foundation of the world.   

 

Half-truths!  They tell men and women that they can be saved by a work of righteousness, but they do not tell them that Christ is the only One who can work that work of righteousness for them.   

 

Half-truths!  Someone once told me that rat poison is 97% good food or the rats would not eat it. Friends, it is the 3% poison that kills the rat.

Light Rising in the Darkness: Take Heart, friends...

"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness." -Psalm 112:4 [KJV] We often get into such dark paths, that we seem altogether out of the secret, and feel as if there were no more grace in our souls, than in one altogether dead in trespasses and sins. THE GREAT TRUMPET BLAST ~ The Joyful Sound!

"The great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come, who were ready to perish." -Isaiah 27:13 [KJV] One trumpet has been blown, at the giving of the law, on mount Sinai: the voice of it sounded long, and waxed louder and louder. It made even Moses to fear and quake exceedingly, and all the people tremble. Soon, very soon, (who knows but it may be the next moment, in the twinkling of an eye?) the last trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised (I Corinthians 15:52.)   Tremendous voice! most solemn sound! The prophet asks, “Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid?” (Amos. 3:6.)
