Partakers of the Inheritance
WHAT A MYSTERY TO ME
O what a mystery it is
That I would have a place;
Among the people of our God,
A loved and chosen race.
O what a mystery it is
That God my soul would save;
That He would love this sinner so,
That His Own Son He gave.
O what a mystery it is,
That Christ my place would take;
To satisfy the law of God,
And full atonement make.
O what a mystery it is,
That He would die for me;
To rescue me from guilt and shame,
From sin to set me free.
O what a mystery it is,
The Spirit worked within;
And then on Jesus I believed,
To save me from my sin.
O what a mystery it is,
That God would care for me;
Ordain that I should dwell with Him,
Throughout eternity.
Tune: “There is a Fountain” CM/double Words by Jim Byrd
-------O-------
“The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men. The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth. Upon the wicked He shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; His countenance doth behold the upright.” -Psalm 11:4-7 [KJV]

PARTAKERS OF THE INHERITANCE
“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:12-14).
Let every believer be so encouraged by this passage that we would patiently bear any trial, affliction or adversity. In the Lord Jesus Christ, we have a fitness, a worthiness to be a partaker of our eternal inheritance. What is this qualification or fitness? It is His perfect righteousness which has been imputed to all those who believe on His Name. I was not ordained to this eternal inheritance because of anything good in me and therefore it will not be denied me because of the sin that is in me. I shall acquire this inheritance, not by works, but purely on the basis free and sovereign grace.
Even now, I stand accepted before a holy God having been bathed in the blood of His dear Son and clothed in His robe of perfect righteousness. Jesus Christ Himself is my fitness and because of Him, I shall someday enter into heavenly glory. This inheritance which is incorruptible and undefiled and will never fade away, is reserved in the heavens for all the Lord’s children.
