Test Results. Patient is totally depraved:

1. “From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; they have not been closed or bound up, or soothed with ointment” (Isaiah 1:6).

2. Head in its entirety is sick (Isaiah 1:5).

3. Ears are deaf to the truth (Isaiah 35:5).

4. Eyes are blind to the light (Isaiah 35:5).

5. Throat is an open tomb (Romans 3:13).

6. Tongue is like a razor speaking deceit (Romans 3:13; Psalm 52:2).

7. Lips have the poison of asps under them (Romans 3:13).

8. Teeth are like swords devouring others (Proverb 3:13).

9. Mouth is full of cursing and bitterness (Romans 3:14).

10. Hands are defiled with blood (Isaiah 59:3).

11. Fingers are defiled with iniquity (Isaiah 59:3).

12. Feet are swift to shed blood (Romans 3:15).

13. Heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9).

14. Mind is debased and enmity against God (Romans 1:28; 8:7).

15. Understanding is darkened and full of ignorance (Ephesians 4:18).

16. Conscience is cauterized, feeling nothing (I Timothy 4:2; Ephesians 4:19).

17. Cognitive faculties suppress the truth (Romans 1:18ff).

18. Thoughts are only evil continually (Genesis 6:5).

19. Passions are vile (Romans 1:26).

20. Nature is spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1, 5; Colossians 2:13).

21. Patient is unwilling to be cured (John 5:40).

22. Patient therefore has no hope in the world (Ephesians 2:12).

23. Furthermore, patient deserves God’s wrath (Ephesians 2:2f).

Treatment Required: God’s free and sovereign grace in Jesus Christ.

Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 19 October, 2025 A.D.

"Behold, he prayeth!"   -Acts 9:11 [KJV] In many trades, it is customary to shew samples or patterns. By these men judge of the goodness or quality of the whole. St. Paul sets himself forth as a sample, or pattern, of the free, distinguishing, sovereign, unmerited grace of God, that we should judge of its nature by its efficacy upon him. “I obtained mercy, for this cause, that in me first   (-a first rate sinner) Jesus Christ may shew forth His all long suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting”   (I Timothy 1:16.) Thou hast seen this pattern of free grace. What dost thou think of it?  The whole is alike with the pattern. It cometh alike upon elect sinners. LORD JESUS, Be Merciful...

" LORD, be merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against Thee." -Psalm 41:4 [KJV] Is this the language of the man after God’s own heart? Was David a saint when he uttered it? Yes, he was a holy man of God. This confession and prayer shew it. His heart was not hardened through the deceitfulness of sin, nor blinded by self-righteous pride, so as to say, “I have no sin.”   Self-righteous hearts cannot away with this, that all the Lord’s saints are yet in themselves miserable sinners; that they daily see need to confess this; and to sue for mercy and healing from the Lord.
