KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD!

The apostle Peter describes the Lord’s believing people as those who have been “begotten again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” and who have an “inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven” for them.  But these blessings would never be believed or received of them were it not for the description that follows: “who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed at the last time.”  

They will all receive all the blessings of God’s grace in Christ because He will keep them!  All of God’s sheep will be “kept” by the great Shepherd!  They are told to “keep yourselves from idols” and to “keep yourselves in the love of God” but their keeping is not what keeps them!  No, they are “KEPT.”  They are “kept by the power of God” and not their own strength. Furthermore, they are “kept... through FAITH.”  

Though they all have temporary lapses of faith, they will never fully and finally fail to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.  Why? Because faith is the gift of God and He will not withdraw His gift.  It was “given to them to believe” and believe they will.  They will continue to believe!  Like Peter, their faith will not fail because Christ ever is interceding for them. Satan will try them but will not have or destroy them.

Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 19 October, 2025 A.D.

"Behold, he prayeth!"   -Acts 9:11 [KJV] In many trades, it is customary to shew samples or patterns. By these men judge of the goodness or quality of the whole. St. Paul sets himself forth as a sample, or pattern, of the free, distinguishing, sovereign, unmerited grace of God, that we should judge of its nature by its efficacy upon him. “I obtained mercy, for this cause, that in me first   (-a first rate sinner) Jesus Christ may shew forth His all long suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting”   (I Timothy 1:16.) LORD JESUS, Be Merciful...

" LORD, be merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against Thee." -Psalm 41:4 [KJV] Is this the language of the man after God’s own heart? Was David a saint when he uttered it? Yes, he was a holy man of God. This confession and prayer shew it.
