Heads-Up --- Please find enclosed encouragement in SO GREAT SALVATION by the perfect and finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy and wretched sinners by His sovereign free grace -God's unmerited favor- from their sins and from Hell:
CHRIST
IS THE FRIEND OF SINNERS
The
religious people during the Lord’s earthly ministry would not come
to Him for salvation because they looked down on a man who would be
the friend of sinners. “The Son of man is come eating and drinking;
and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of
publicans and sinners” [LUKE 7:24]. But this is the very reason
sinners flock to Christ: He is the friend of sinners!
The
Lord Jesus Christ is such a Friend of sinners that He did everything
necessary to redeem them from their sin.I
ask you, Which are you? Are you a religious person who is so good you
look down on and despise sinners? If you are, you will see no need of
the Friend of sinners. But if you are a helpless sinner, run to
Christ Jesus because He is the Friend who forgives the sin of
sinners.
