GOOD NEWS!

Weekend Gospel message to follow for All Hands   (16-18JUL21) Heads-Up --- Please find enclosed encouragement in   SO GREAT SALVATION   by the perfect and finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy and wretched sinners by His sovereign free grace - God's unmerited favor - from  our  sins and from Hell: PARDONED SIN   It is true that I have sin in me, but it is pardoned. God has forgiven me all trespasses. I stand before Him in my Redeemer, Who undertook for me, and I am perfect in Him. The Father chose me in His Son: He looks upon the face of His beloved, and sees me in Him. In Christ He is well pleased, so He is with me! As He loves Christ, He loves me!  This is the glorious privilege which by faith I now enjoy. I deny sight and sense, and I believe the Word of God! I adhere strictly to the Word of God concerning me, believing myself to be dead indeed unto sin in Christ, and in Him absolutely freed from guilt and condemnation....

Encouragement in Christ JESUS

"Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not Thy law." - Psalm 119:136  [KJV] Who is there of whom this may be said? Jesus, and Jesus only. He wept indeed over His beloved Jerusalem, for He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And the love He had to His redeemed, induced a bloody sweat through all the pores of His sacred body. But of every other may it not be said, "All seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's." Did we truly love Zion, would not rivers of tears run down at the present languishing state of Zion? Did we feel the full sense of distinguishing grace, would not every heart mourn over the ruins of our common nature?     Think, my soul, what a mass of sin ascends as a cloud before the view of the Lord every day from a single heart of the desperately wicked transgressor? Think what an accumulation in a town, a province, an empire, the world! Might not rivers of waters run down at the contemplation? And worse, if...

Proclaim the Glorious Truth

"And I only am escaped alone to tell thee." -Job 1:19 [KJV] My soul, is there nothing in this account which the messenger to Job gave concerning himself which suits thy case and circumstances? Nay, mayest thou not in a great variety of ways, both in providence and grace, adopt similar language, in which thou art escaped alone to tell?     Pause! look back to thy boyish days. Nay, look further back, even to the birth, and to the womb; for had not the Lord carried thee from thence, surely from the womb wouldest thou have died and given up the ghost. And what was thy childhood, but years of perils and dangers, in which multitudes dropped all around thee, so that thou mightest say, while contemplating them, "and I only am escaped alone to tell thee?" And where are numbers with whom the stages of thy youth, and years at school were spent? Where are they? May it not here again be said, "And I only am escaped alone to tell thee?" Go on, and trace the wonderful...

The Wednesday Word

GOOD NEWS FOR BELIEVERS (Part 1) Romans 8: 29-39 (Read) God loves the believer – not the religionist – Did you know there’s a big difference between a religionist and a true believer?  Religionists trust that they are members of what they think is the true church and assume that if they follow their church teaching to the best of their ability, they will get to heaven. The true believer, on the other hand, trusts and rests on the Lord Jesus Christ alone. God loves the believer, and nothing can stop Him doing so. Do you know why I say that? It’s because of the scriptures we’ve just read … Romans 8:29-39. In Romans 8:29 we read about a people God foreknew… Quite literally they were a people He foreloved.  That’s us … the believers. We were loved before time. Then again in verse 29 we read that these believers were predestined.  Predestination also took place before time.  Spurgeon quipped, “I’m so glad that God chose me before He saw me because if He’d wai...

PRAYER REQUEST

Please pray Abba (Father) for our black brother-in-Christ named Sanrico Prinsloo and his family. He lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa. The whole country has gone crazy with rioting, shootings, burning buildings, looting, etc. It's a total societal melt-down and watching the videos is heart breaking.  Please pray our Mighty God for Sanrico and the rest of God's people in Suid Afrika.

Our Times are in His Hands

"This year thou shalt die. " -Jeremiah 28:16  [KJV] I have often thought this passage, pronounced on the lying prophet, a most suitable sermon for a birthday portion, to be sounded in the ears of the sinner: and if qualified with the possibility and probability which arise out of our dying circumstances, it might, when commissioned by the Lord, have a blessed effect. My soul, take it for the meditation of thy birth-day. It may be fulfilled this year; it must be fulfilled some year; it cannot be a very distant year; and there is a birth-day when it shall be passed upon thee in the year. And why not the present? Pause, my soul, and meditate upon it, as if this were the very year. And what though carnal men celebrate the anniversary of their birth-day, as best suited to their carnal minds, let thine be wholly spiritual. If indeed a man came into the world laughing, there might be a suitable correspondence in commemorating the annual return of such a birth with laughing. But if c...

Depart NOT from me, O LORD!

"And they began to pray Him to depart out of their coasts." - Mark 5:17  [KJV] And was this Jesus whom they desired to depart? Yes: and what had the Redeemer done to merit this treatment? He had dispossessed the evil spirit from the mind of a poor creature, and caused the whole country to be freed from the fury of one whom no chains could bind: was this the cause? Yes. And is it possible that so divine an act could have had such an effect upon the minds of a whole body of people? What, would these Gadarenes rather have the devil ranging among them, in the person of this poor creature, than the Son of God in the kindness of our nature?     Pause, my soul: is it not the same now? Do not men still prefer the raging uncontrolled lusts of their own hearts, the dominion of Satan, and the customs, pursuits, and follies, of the world; to the grace, mercy, and sweet dominion of Jesus? Do they not indeed, if not in words, say, "Depart from us, we desire not the knowledge of Thy w...
