The Chief Shepherd Leads His Little Flock

"And H e led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation." -Psalm 107:7 [KJV] When the Lord leads, we can follow. The path may be rough, but if the Lord upholds, we can walk in it without stumbling. Whatever the Lord bids, we can do if we have but H is presence; whatever H e calls upon us to suffer, we can bear if we have but the approbation of a good conscience and H is approving smile. Oh, the wonders of sovereign grace! The cross is no cross if the Lord give strength to bear it; affliction is no affliction if the Lord support under it; trial is no trial sweetened by his smile, and sorrow no grief if lightened by H is love. It is our fretfulness, unbelief, carnal reasoning, rebellion, and self-pity which make a rough way a wrong way; but grace in its all-conquering power, not only subdues every difficulty without, but what is its greater triumph, subdues every difficulty within. It is, and ever must be, one of the strongest prin...

Believe on The Lord Jesus Christ

"Some have tried to give directions to sinners on "how to get converted," multiplying words without wisdom, leading the sinner away from the cross by setting him upon DOING, not upon BELIEVING.  Our business is not to give any such directions; but, as the apostles did, to preach Christ crucified, a present Saviour and a present salvation. Then it is that sinners are converted; as the Lord Himself said, "I, if I be lifted up...will draw all men unto Me" (John 12:32) ."   - Gospel report by preacher Horatius Bonar (1808–1889 A.D.)

Rejoice & Rest

Blessed are the poor in spirit Who their sinful nature see They are taught they have no merit To the Saviour they all flee. Self-renouncing, grace admiring Made unto salvation wise Sovereign love their hearts rejoicing From His cross their hopes arise. Those who find themselves polluted Feel their hearts so prone to sin They shall have by God imputed Righteousness so pure and clean. At His throne their hearts confessing Praise our God of sovereign grace Weeping, loving, praising, blessing On His head the crown they place. - hymn “ Jesus Calls Us” REST! When our God completed the creation of this world, it is said that He rested. This is not a rest from weariness, but simply declaring that there was no more to do; creation was finished! Our Lord Jesus "entered into His rest , " He also hath ceased from His works, as the Father did from His (Heb rews 4:10) . He cried, "It is finished , " and the work...
"The L ORD will give grace and glory." -Psalm 84:11 b [KJV]   Wherever the Lord gives grace, He in and with that grace gives glory. We, therefore, read, "Moreover whom H e did predestinate, them H e also called; and whom H e called, them H e also justified; and whom H e justified, them H e also glorified." Thus He has already made them, even while on earth, partakers of His glory; and this by making them partakers of His grace; for as in the bud is the bloom, and in the bloom the fruit, so in budding grace is blooming glory—grace being but glory begun, and glory being but grace finished. But what is "glory?" Viewed as future, in its full consummation, it is to be with Jesus in realms of eternal bliss, where tears are wiped from off all faces; it is to see Him as He is; to be conformed to His glorious likeness; to be delivered from all sin and sorrow; to be perfectly free from all temptations, trials, burdens, and exercises, and to dwel...

Come to the Lord Jesus!

“ To come to Christ for life, is for the sinner to feel and acknowledge that he is utterly destitute of any claim upon God's favor; is to see himself as "without strength , " lost and undone; is to admit that he is deserving of nothing but eternal death, thus taking side with God against himself; it is for him to cast himself into the dust before God, and humbly sue for Divine mercy. To come to Christ for life, is for the sinner to abandon his own righteousness and be ready to be made the righteousness of God in Christ; it is to disown his own wisdom and be guided by His; it is to repudiate his own will and be ruled by His; it is to unreservedly receive the Lord Jesus as his Saviour and Lord, as his All in all.” - Gospel report by preacher Arthur Pink

Justification by the Imputed Righteousness of Christ!

“ The doctrine of justification by the righteousness of Christ is a doctrine of great importance; the apostle speaks of it as if the essence of the gospel lay in it and calls the opposite to it, justification by the works of the law, "another gospel" (Galatians 1:6-7; 3:8) . It is a fundamental article of the gospel; some have called it, the "basis" of Christianity...This doctrine is the ground and foundation of all solid joy, peace, and comfort, in this life, and hope of eternal glory hereafter.” – Gospel report by preacher John Gill (1697–1771 A.D.)
