"Let T hy mercies come also unto me, O L ORD , even T hy salvation, according to T hy word. So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in T hy word." -Psalm 119:41-42 [KJV] A living soul wants to return an answer to him that reproaches it. But he cannot do it of himself, for he has not a word to speak in self-justification; that is utterly cut off; and therefore he wants to have that which shall furnish him with an answer to these reproaches. And what alone can furnish him with an answer? The mercies of God in his soul. "Let Thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even Thy salvation, according to Thy word. So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me." The coming in of "mercies" into the soul, and the manifestation of "salvation" to the heart afford an answer "to him that reproacheth us." If you will observe, the word "mercies" is in the plural number, there being many me...

Christ Jesus - Prophet, Priest & King!

“ Christ our Lord is presented in the gospel as undivided in His offices. He is Prophet, Priest and King. The Father will not permit Him to be divided. Some would have Him as Savior but not as Sovereign. Some would have His teaching but not His atonement. Some would enjoy the crown but not the cross. My friend, it will be the complete Christ or no Christ. The gospel holds out no hope to the man who will not hear Him, be cleansed by His blood, and bow to Him as Lord.” - Gospel report by preacher Henry Mahan

Our Lord's Distinguishing Love to His People

“ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.” - I John 3:1 [KJV]   No creature of the dust can possibly plum the depth of the manner, the sort or the quality, of the love that God has for His people. But according to God’s word His love, which was totally undeserved, is revealed to have been in the heart of God eternally (Jer emiah 31:3) . His love is a distinguishing and particular love (Mal achi 1:2-3) , graciously and compassionately bestowed upon the recipients of His mercy totally according to the good pleasure of His will (Ex odus 33:1 9 ) . His love, being a love that is never shown at the expense of His justice, flows to His elect according to the efficacy of the broken body and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ…He who was made sin for His bride that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. And thanks be unto God…if He h...

The Fullness Of The Blessings Of The Gospel

“ And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.” -Romans 15:29 [KJV] The apostle Paul was an ambitious, zealous missionary and preacher of the gospel of Christ. He had a desire not only to travel and preach the gospel to those in Rome, but also to travel into Spain and preach the gospel there (Rom ans 15:24, 28) . He assured the believers in Rome that on his way to Spain he would stop in Rome also and minister the gospel to them personally and fully (Rom ans 1:10-15; 15:19) . But what Paul says by the power of Holy Spirit inspiration that really caught and fixed my attention in the way and how he says that he will come to Rome, “I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.” That is also true of every believer in how we come before God right now; in the fullness of all spiritual blessings in Christ (Ep hesians 1:3; I Cor inthians 1:30) . Consider what the scriptures teach ...

The Importance of Knowing Christ Jesus

“ That I may know H im, and the power of H is resurrection, and the fellowship of H is sufferings, being made conformable unto H is death” -Phil ippians 3:10 [KJV] I know that there are some things that are important to us; there are some people that are important to us. However, in light of our great need of Christ nothing else is that important. We need Him. As the woman with the issue of blood said, “If I can but touch the hem of H is garment, I shall be made whole.” Without Him we are lost, undone, and unaccepted by the Father. There is no material thing or human relationship that can supply my spiritual need; however, in Christ we are complete ( Col ossians 2:9-10 ) . In Christ we have all that we need to stand in God’s presence accepted ( Phil ippians 4:19 ) . I cannot express how important it is to know Christ; all material things will burn up, and all fleshly relationships will be dissolved. However, our relationship with Christ will never be d...
“ It is ignorance of doctrine which is mainly responsible for thousands of professing Christians being captivated by the numerous fallacies of the day. It is because the time has now arrived when the bulk of our churches “will not endure sound doctrine” ( II Tim othy 4:3) that they so readily receive false doctrines. Of course it is true that doctrine, like anything else in Scripture, may be studied from a merely cold intellectual viewpoint, and thus approached, doctrinal teaching and doctrinal study will leave the heart untouched, and will naturally be ‘dry’ and profitless. But, doctrine properly received, doctrine studied with an exercised heart, will ever lead into a deeper knowledge of God and of the unsearchable riches of Christ.” -Gospel report by preacher Arthur Pink Excerpt from "The Sovereignty of God," first published in 1919 A.D. https://chapellibrary.org:8443/pdf/books/sogo.pdf
Weekend Gospel message to follow for All Hands (08-10MAR19) Heads-Up --- Please find enclosed encouragement in "SO GREAT SALVATION" by the perfect and finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy and wretched sinners by His sovereign free grace - God's unmerited favor - from their sins and from Hell: “ THE WRATH TO COME ” - I Thess alonians 1:10 [KJV] God poured out His wrath upon the old world and destroyed all mankind except those who were in the Ark with Noah. God poured out His wrath upon His Son, when He died upon the cross bearing the sins of His people. Some may persuade themselves that He has no more wrath to pour out, but they deceive themselves. The apostle assures us in this Scripture that He still has wrath to pour out, there is still “wrath to come.” Upon whom will it come? Just as His wrath was poured out upon all who were not in the ark, so it will be poured out upon all those who are not IN CHRIST. There is One refuge ...
