Christ Put Away the Sins of His People

The Name of Jesus is so sweet,

‘Tis music to our ears;

For He alone could save our souls,

And drive away our fears.

The Lord of glory long ago,

Came to this world of woe;

To save the chosen of the Lord,

And pay the debt we owe.

Here is a wondrous mystery,

That God the Savior came;

And gave Himself the sacrifice,

To save us from our shame.

O what a great Redeemer this,

Whose blood atonement made;

Our guilt in all its blackest hue,

Was on the Savior laid.

For us Christ died upon the cross,

And wrath divine He bore;

The risen Savior ever reigns,

We’re safe forevermore.

So sing, “All glory to the Lamb,”

Whose face we soon shall see;

Then satisfied we all shall be,

Throughout eternity.

BY GRACE YE ARE SAVED”

     If you could have been a witness when God chose a multitude of sinners unto salvation before the world was made, you would have observed that it was an election of grace.  If you had seen the Son of God accomplishing the work of redemption, when He rendered to the Father the full ransom price for the salvation of His people, you would have discovered that it was a gracious redemption.  If you could be a spectator when a sinner is quickened from a state of spiritual death and led to turn their backs upon their own self-righteousness and be content and thankful to be saved by the blood and righteousness of Christ, you would find that it was a work of the Spirit of grace.   If you could view a justified sinner each day, see his/her many faults and failures and yet behold their continual favor with a holy God, you would find that their perpetual acceptance in Christ is altogether a matter of pure grace.  If you could see into the future, into that eternal day when time shall be no more, when all the redeemed saints stand faultless before the throne of God in the Lord Jesus Christ, you would see that their glorification was all of grace.  In the beginning, in the end, and everywhere in-between, the salvation of sinners is altogether by grace.  “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).  When it comes to the salvation of sinners, there is no room for the flesh to boast.  “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord” (I Corinthians 1:31).
