Peace Unto God's People

“I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints: but let them not turn again to folly.” -Psalm 85:8 [KJV] 

Our only hope for salvation is to “hear what God the LORD will speak” from His Word as He leads us (sinners) to the Lord Jesus Christ for all salvation and all eternal blessedness. God “will speak peace unto HIS people, and to HIS saints.” This describes God’s people whom He chose to save in and by Christ before the foundation of the world. He sends forth the Holy Spirit to bring them to the true Gospel and reveals to and in them the only way of peace (reconciliation) with Him by the righteousness of Christ imputed to them (Romans 1:16-17; II Corinthians 5:19-21). 

This peace is the assurance of salvation that can only be found in Christ – the glory of His Person as God manifest in the flesh, the spotless Lamb Who is Surety, Substitute, Redeemer, Preserver, and Protector of His people for whom He obeyed unto death and rose again from the grave. 

The problem with men and women by nature, left to themselves and their own natural wills, is that they will not hear (heed, listen to, and obey) God’s Word to find the true peace that can only be found in Christ and His righteousness alone. 

They will listen to Satan and his false preachers who speak peace where there is no peace (John 8:44). They will listen to their own deceptive hearts which will grant them the false peace of false religion (Jeremiah 17:9). But they will not listen to the Word of God and His preachers who preach His Word (I Corinthians 2:14). God be thanked that He has brought HIS people to repent of all that foolishness and heed His Word of sovereign grace for sinners in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 04 October, 2023 A.D.

" All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient." —I Corinthians 6:12 [KJV] The constraints of love and jealousy of fear sweetly unite in the believing heart. Where the faith of Jesus prevails, love constrains. It holds and keeps us in our station and duty, as soldiers are kept together under a banner or ensign displayed. What cheerfulness and activity of soul do we experience, when we can say with the church in the Canticles (Songs of Solomon), ch. 2, vs4. "Jesus' banner over me was love!" JESUS - Rock of Ages

Jesus remains the same in all ages. He is the One who is constant when everything and everyone else fails. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever; the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He is our R ock [I SAMUEL 2:2 ] . In the Old Testament, in Exodus 33, Jesus is pictured as the Cleft Rock. In that chapter, verse 18 and following, Moses desired to see the glory of the Lord, but was told, "You cannot see My face; for there shall no man see My face and live.” And the Lord said, “There is a place by Me, and you shalt stand upon a rock: and it shall come to pass, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by."
