Great News!
"In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. ...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth." -JOHN
1:1, 14 [KJV]
If ever there were two verses to be marked with special emphasis, it would be these. They speak of the deity of Christ and His humanity. The Son of God did not cease to be all that He was, and yet He became what He was not before, flesh. As God He could render perfect obedience to all the divine requirements. As Man He could suffer divine wrath and die in the stead of His people. Consider this amazing fact, the union of God and Man in one Person is indissoluble and forever. "He (the God-Man) ever liveth to make intercession for us" [HEBREWS 7:25].
